Staying downtown. Is it advisable to take the Green Line to Damen and walk the 4 blocks? Or would you recommend another way to get from downtown?I’m local to Chicago so pumped for Friday, would have gone no matter where it is but I’m expecting a home game against TN/UVA.
Am doing the same thing, so hopefully the Green Line is the best option. Did see the State/Lake Station is closed just fyi.Staying downtown. Is it advisable to take the Green Line to Damen and walk the 4 blocks? Or would you recommend another way to get from downtown?
The 20 CTA bus runs along Madison from Millennium Park (the bean) to the United Center. It runs about every 10 minutes. Also most events have a 19 express bus from 90 minutes before to an hour after. The 19 goes from United Center to Michigan Ave (Mag mile area).Am doing the same thing, so hopefully the Green Line is the best option. Did see the State/Lake Station is closed just fyi.
Absolutely, this is the way to go. After the game it could be a little rough as that train cuts through some bad neighborhoods before Damen on the way back to downtown. Likely will have a lot more folks than usual from the game, so it should be fine. But going out there before the game will be a breezeStaying downtown. Red Roof Inn, Cabrini Green.have they announced where the team is staying yet
Cool! Maybe I’ll swing by I love RanallisInformal, if anything. We were there ahead of the Miami Sweet 16 game a few years ago and it was jam-packed with Clones.
I’d definitely uber, it’ll be like a $20 uber and way easier than dealing with transit. I live downtown and I haven’t been on an L in probably 3 years lol downtown loop to the UC is a super quick uberStaying downtown. My guess is it'll be fine if there are large groups of sports fans on the lines. The sketchy times on the L are when its super late and you're by yourself. Not trying to be an alarmist but as a local Chicagoan there has been an uptick in the amount of violent crime on the L the past year, green line isn’t the best either as it passes through some of the more rough neighborhoods. Anyone here considering it just take an uber, it’s also just as easy if not easier then the L. Or if you’re taking an L do it on the way there not way back, post game will be closer to midnight and it does get a little dicey then. Just my honest opinion.
Wife has never been. I haven't done a lot of the tourist stuff downtown. What's everyone's favorite can't miss touristy activities for Saturday?
The River & Lake Architecture Tour is pretty good
Great starting point.
Wife and I are going to do some museums and eat a lot![]()
After the game take her to the Wieners Circle (2622 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614) and get a chocolate shake. See you there!Wife has never been. I haven't done a lot of the tourist stuff downtown. What's everyone's favorite can't miss touristy activities for Saturday?
