Chicago Roll Call

The United Center has the Uber experience DOWN, like it’s an airport. Whole separate area with designated areas to wait. I know trips are expensive, but it’s going to be late and the train experience is a big wild card. Spring for the Uber.

That’s great to know. We plan on ubering.

Wife has never been. I haven't done a lot of the tourist stuff downtown. What's everyone's favorite can't miss touristy activities for Saturday?
A day game at Wrigley absolutely a Chicago classic. Though it's opening weekend so tix may be rather pricey.

For people asking me about the L to United center - unfortunate article coming out today but another reason I’m being a little vocal about telling my fellow cyclones to just use ubers as a local here. Now with that said, gonna be an incredible weekend here and can’t wait to see a strong contingent here for the party and wins against Tennessee and Michigan/Bama!

Not trying to be an alarmist but as a local Chicagoan there has been an uptick in the amount of violent crime on the L the past year, green line isn’t the best either as it passes through some of the more rough neighborhoods. Anyone here considering it just take an uber, it’s also just as easy if not easier then the L. Or if you’re taking an L do it on the way there not way back, post game will be closer to midnight and it does get a little dicey then. Just my honest opinion.
There will be no Ls for any cyclones this weekend. Only Ws allowed!

After the game take her to the Wieners Circle (2622 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614) and get a chocolate shake. See you there!

I've got some stories from the Wiener's Circle! Is it still great?

Go to a Jewel/Osco (Chicago's main grocery store chain) and find some El Ranchero tortilla chips. You won't find them on the chip aisle because they don't pay extra for that shelf space. Look around at the end caps to find them. Made on Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. Trust me, they are the best. I will be buying at least 8 bags!

I love El Nandu at 2731 W Fullerton (off of the California "L" Stop to or from O'Hare).

No L's. Good Chicago joke!

Fortunately, it can also be called the "El train" for elevated train. When you call it the L, you are usually referring to the El-evated train that loops (hence the L) around the old downtown.

FYI a bunch of face value tickets just dropped on Ticketmaster. I just got two in section 321.

Go get em!
How’d you come across these? We’ve been waiting out the market before buying anything. Curious if there’s a way to know if the UC releases more today/tomorrow other than constant refreshing.

My son recently visited Chicago with his friends. I told him that is one place he needed to visit. They walked past it initially because it had temporarily changed it's name to Black Castle for Halloween. When they found it, they loved it. One of his friends wore a Packers shirt and was mocked mercilessly.

I had Ticketmaster up on one of my monitors and refreshed it occasionally. That's it.
