That would exclude almost every rock and rap performer ever if we called them out when they died. 2Pac would be a first ballot hall of famer for crap he did when he was alive. Yet, somehow everyone seems to forget the sexual assaults and all that and acts like he was a poet. So yeah, we tend to ignore all the bad stuff people do when they died if they wrote kick ass songs.
Yeah, nobody from the classic rock 'n' roll period of the 1960s and the 1970s really escapes without a blemish considering the drinking, drugs, and sexual culture of the era. We're going to be down to Pat Boone if we go down that path.
I know less about the 1980s and 1990s with the pop-rock of the era, the rise of hip-hop, and the rise of grunge, but I can only imagine it is not any better.
