I have always found "southern rock" kind of a redundant term.

Rock 'n' roll was/is inherently southern.

Yeah, nobody from the classic rock 'n' roll period of the 1960s and the 1970s really escapes without a blemish considering the drinking, drugs, and sexual culture of the era. We're going to be down to Pat Boone if we go down that path.

I know less about the 1980s and 1990s with the pop-rock of the era, the rise of hip-hop, and the rise of grunge, but I can only imagine it is not any better.
