I wonder if KU's approach of building a luxury hotel just for the basketball team helps or hurts this type of thing?

My first reaction was that treating the players like millionaires will make them soft and less likely to work hard, but now I'm thinking maybe it just insulates them from minor problems, the big problems will still happen, but minor crap like this would never happen within KU's luxury player hotel.

Has to help. The 51% of non-basketball students will likely have to sign something that says they won't call the cops if the music gets to loud, or the marijuana smell gets too strong.

No kidding. Seems like his biggest mistake was deciding to rent an apartment vs house.

I think you're right... but if i'm being an optimist, he already was having apress conference today. He couldn't just cancel the conference. Maybe he's waiting for more facts/ figuring out a response so delayed press conference.

That point is irrelevant. He broke the law and was caught. The people that "do this everyday and go on with their lives" didn't spend the night in jail. Just like in football, it's only holding if it's called.

Not true. He was charged at 3 am in the morning, and later the most serious charges were dropped. The less serious charges are still out there I think.

Plus....if the coaches have been made aware of this stuff before with the 5 other times police were called, and have spoken with BDJ about it.....I'd bench him just for not listening to me as his coach, or not doing what he was told to do. At least I assume CFH did not tell him to go ahead an keep blaring music at 3 a.m., and don't worry about someone smoking weed in your apartment.

The superlative I imagine Bryce Dejean-Jones was hoping for this season was Highest-Impact Transfer -- and he's still in the running for it, off to the best start of his career, averaging 17.1 points on 56.8 percent shooting, playing far more efficiently than he ever did at UNLV. Unfortunately in the meantime he's been subjected to the title of Most Pointless Arrest -- booked early Thursday morning by Ames police on a charge of "keeping a residence where a substance believed to be marijuana was discovered," or for short on the rap sheet, "hosting a drug house." The charge was dropped later Thursday morning due to lack of probable cause, but a few noise-related violations stand, and reporters got to take pictures of him at the courthouse. Congrats to the crime-fighters of Ames, for keeping the city safer overnight, by jailing a man who was in the vicinity of weed.

Something is just bothering me about 5 other times. Torn because of the following:

we had the cops called on us i think 7 times. 1 time it was us 4 roommates playing beer pong (cops told us to keep it down..end of discussion) another time we were all in our rooms at 9PM cause we all had tests the next day but still had the cops show up because of a noise complaint... another time cops called 2 of us were playing xbox and cops knocked just yelled come in and they were like wtf sorry for this... you're starting to get the hint. Finally the 7th time they showed up and it was 7 of us playing a card game sitting on a saturday night at 8pm they got ****** and went and gave the neighbors a ticket.

So in this case we never had any issues with the cops as we would 1 be doing nothing wrong or 2 listen to them right away and not have any issues. Sometimes you just have ******* neighbors, another example our neighbors my freshmen year smoked a lot and dealt outta their room but I had no problem with them but someone on the other side of their room did.

So if BDJ has a ****** neighbor he needs to learn to not do anything in his room pretty much common sense 101. Or if BDJ is just stupid and doesn't listen to the cops he needs to get his **** set straight.

Thats your opinion. Playing video games and smoking isnt right, but getting hammered by poisoning your body with alcohol is socially accepted so its right. Ok buddy

I'm assuming you mean Iowa is favored? And it's not really an option for ISU to be at full strength when McKay isn't eligible until next week.
 
He shouldn't be suspended for any games. Maybe not starting or suspended a half tomorrow night but nothing more.

I'm not talking about a suspension solely for partying. I'm not even talking about a suspension. I went to college. I partied a lot. Its part of the college experience and I get that. However, getting the police called to your house at 330 am the day before a big rivalry is not smart and that needs to be clear to everybody. A student athlete needs to make different decisions than the rest of the student body. Decisions like I probably shouldnt have people over to my place tonight, I should go out instead, or everyone needs to leave at 1, or maybe I shouldnt smoke a bowl tonight or let my friends smoke at my house. I'm not
 
I'm not saying you should never party. That would be absurd. There ways to have fun all the fun in the world and still be smart about it.
