It's funny because in their three losses they didn't just lose, they got the doors blown off of them. This team overachieved big time this year with all of the bounces and breaks they got especially in the first 5 games of the season.
Just turned on the Hok game and UM scored again. Knew that if UM was dialed in tonight, it wouldn't be a contest. Had to laugh at the announcer saying "this is a good Iowa team!" They have a decent defense - but their offense (besides really the Maryland game) is one of the most futile I have seen out of any Top-15 team in the last decade. The Hoks got all the lucky breaks this year to make up for such an inept offense. This game shows what happens when you play a rated opponent when it isn't your superbowl. Just imagine what would happen if Freerentz would treat his Big 10 games like he does the game vs ISU.
here is how Iowa's season should have gone down.
ISU shows up and doesn't turn the ball over and wins
Penn State doesn't lose their QB
Should have lost to Nebraska
dodged Mich, Ohio St and MSU
This is a team that should have finished 7-5 or even 6-6, but used a schedule, a lot of lucky bounces, Wisconsin laying an egg and an amazing punter to win 10 games. There is a reason they were underdogs to Nebraska.
Next year won't be so easy and typically have ways of evening out.
