*** CFB Championship Week Games Thread***

Why would he decline and interview and a chance to promote his team? I mean that is kind of his job.
Oh, I get that. Just being a devil's advocate. However, I do not think Alabama getting in the CFP and getting gouged by Georgia is better for Alabama than going to the Sugar Bowl and beating Big Xii Champion K-State. I know they could lose Upset Georgia, and they could lose to K-State, but considering this is not a vintage Alabama Championship caliber team, I think he should just keep his mouth shut and have a nice time in New Orleans. He has NOTHING to prove to anybody including to his team and fans. THEY know this is not a Championship Team.

That was terrrrrrrrrrible defense on first play. LMAO how bad that was.

Anybody who has played 2k or Madden could see the gigantic gain there the instant they snapped the ball.

I want to see Bama destroy KSU

Come on, FOX. Was that Saban sob story really necessary?
So seriously, did Sankey send a memo to the SEC media shills and Sabin that the buzzword is BEST team. The BEST teams deserve to be in the Playoff. Is BEST code word for blue bloods or is BEST code word for team that was preseason #1 but then lost 2 games or is BEST the teams with the most 5 star recruits.

IMO BEST is a subjective measure when a team falls short using objective measures!

Sabin also had the balls to tout how his team found themselves at year end. So beating Mississippi State, Mississippi, Austin Peay and Auburn was murderers row in 2022?

The reality is Alabama didn't even make it's conference Championship game. So they didn't put themselves on the line like Georgia, Michigan, TCU or USC. If we are going to penalize teams for losing in CCG, while rewarding teams that sit at home- why play CCG's.

BAMA can suck on their 8 conference game schedule also. There is 14 teams in your league, you don't play 5 teams. They played Texas...whatever, all the other leagues play 9 games and still play a decent Power 5 school also. That is the SEC's fault for not forcing 9 games, but it should matter they got an extra cupcake game.
Didn't have to play Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, florida or mizzou on the other side of the SEC.

They played Vandy and Tennessee from the east. you can't have a big league an only play 8 conference games.

Team A:
Played 5 ranked teams, 4 current ranked
Lost two games by 1 and 3 points, both on the road
Missed CCG, only 12 tiny data points

Team B:
Played 3 ranked teams, 3 current ranked teams
Lost one game by 22 at home
Missed CCG, only 12 tiny data points

Team C:
Played 6 ranked teams, 3 currently ranked
Lost one game to #10 in overtime
Played in CCG, has the all important 13 data points

Not sure why Team B is the consensus team that's safely in among these three. To me seems like they are last of the three.

FWIW I agree with you this isn't the greatest Alabama team, but they still stack up pretty well among the three teams in question, probably 4th overall. Schedules are so different in cfb. There's a big difference between undefeated and two loss, but two loss vs one loss can be schedule quite often.

Like everybody it's fun to have "new" teams and crazy as it seems Michigan even feels new compared to Alabama. TCU definitely. Still I can't just dismiss Alabama as very possibly 3/4, 5 at worst.

So after watching all the talking head halftime shows, it seems like none of the games today have playoff implications. Win or lose, Georgia, Michigan, or TCU would be in. LSU, Purdue, and KSU had no way to play their way in. And the ACC title game doesn't factor in at all.

I feel like playoff expansion is sort of pointless when there are typically 1 or 2 teams that are clearly above the rest, and the number of lopsided playoff games to date seems to back that. But at least adding auto bids to these conference title games will make sure there is something at stake.
