CB Loves Haters

Man, I wish 22 and Go Show were on our team. We would have the toughest team ever. All basketball, all the time. No time for fun or jest, just basketball.

How dare one of our players wear a novelty t-shirt making light of the fact that people undervalue his talent? How dare he bring any amount of levity to a frustrating year? Please.

We need you two out there. How quickly can you get to Waco?

My thoughts exactly!

Remember when Harrison Barnes wore an ISU sweatshirt to the Ames High signing day a couple of days before his announcement and it was supposed to communicate who he'd be signing with?

Maybe guys like Harrison Barnes and Craig Brackins don't consider how every piece of their outfit will come off to the smallest faction of fans? Maybe we (2 of you) are inferring a tad too much here? Just maybe?

Wow...Get off of Brackins. Getting ridiculous.

I'm sure Mac messed up some where...Go back to ripping on him.

Its actually really embarassing how this fanbase reacts sometimes. Im embarassed to be a fan of the same team as some of these people.

Lets see his stats in big games last year vs big games this year. And lets compare stats vs Big 12 last year and Big 12 this year.

okay
this year.

His points are down, you're right. But take out the crazy KU game last year where he shot 21 free throws, and the Nebraska game this year which we won anyway and there isn't that much of a difference.

Steals are nearly identical.

Blocks are up.

Total assists are down 1.

Rebounds are down big, but Gilstrap is the one taking up that slack big time.

You can make the case that the points for those 2 games can't be eliminated because you're point is that he dominated those games. I would counter that the other teams in the league are more familiar with how to stop him after another year, and other members of our team are picking up the slack because we have more talent. I don't care that he didn't do as well against Nebraska there because we WON that game this year. I would also argue the Big 12 as a whole is better than last year.

ISUFAN22...lol...wow.

I'm with the others. Very, very weird reaction.

It's a friggin tshirt. Probably has nothing to do about anything. It's a friggin novelty tshirt. I have a tshirt that says "Who Farted?" in bold letters on the front. I gave my brother a tshirt that has a picture of George Costanza and a sign that says "Warning: Pool May Cause Shrinkage" ...witty novelty tshirts.

What he wears for tshirts, especially the one he has in that picture, is 100% meaningless, and deserves no discussion on a forum like this. Maybe the Off Topic forum?
I have to agree with you. Very weird reaction.

Remind me never to wear my "Paddy's Irish Pub" t-shirt around either of these two as to not get mixed up for an alcoholic or a member of the cast of It's Always Sunny...

My friend had an "If Drunk Blow Here" t-shirt with an arrow pointing to his junk. I don't think anyone ever took it seriously, and if they did, I'd wear it everyday.

You make good points.

I most certainly do. A decision that was for the good of ISU but most likely not for the good of Craig. If Craig doesn't want to read about critical comments - go dominate. He can and has shown it many times, just not much at all this season.

I think that YOU and I don't know nearly enough about basketball to know exactly what Craig faces during a game. While it may SEEM easy for him to dominate all of the time, I'm guessing that it just isn't that easy. You don't play basketball for a division 1 school, so I don't think that YOU know if he is doing anything wrong.

The key is wish, but they don't. If I truly believed the team was giving 100% for 40 minutes and getting better (winning or still falling short), I wouldn't have an issue with it. But I don't think the Craig and the team is doing that. If they were, Craig would have scored 40+ against CU because his points were there all night (which is just one example).

Maybe the shirt is Craig's way of trying to get his team to have an us against the world mentality. Maybe, he was trying to be the leader that you don't seem to think he is.

Please tell me that someone tells these players who (apparently) read the message boards, that the majority are a bunch of people who know nothing about actually playing college basketball. It kills me that they read this stuff and apparently take it to heart. We know NOTHING.

But hes supposed to be averaging 25pts and 14 rebs a game!:jimlad:

Players are told not to read, but at least a few of them do...I'm more worried about future players/parents, when we find a way to rip a guy that had a million reasons to leave, but only needed one to stay. Pretty stupid if you ask me...

to be fair the this thread is a defense of Brackin much more than a teardown.

tell coach the evil doers have been thwarted for now and you didn't even have to steer the conversation at all.

yea, he's only averaging 16.8 points a game over a stretch that included 2 top 3 teams in the nation. That's some serious amount of suck. And the rest the games have happened during major adversity with the team finding enough guys that are healthy and here.

I would imagine last year he probably was the only focus of just about every game plan. This year there is more than one option from an offensive standpoint.

This isn't a "Rip on Craig" thread. This is an "ISUfan22 rips on Craig and those of us living in reality go after him" thread. Let's get it straight.
