We won't know for sure until the full contract is available, but reports sure seem to indicate no opt outs in the full contract.
Interesting how these negotiations go. How do come up with 502 vs a nice round number of 500?

I figured 125 games, but that's still a couple random ABs if you figured 4 per game.
You need 502 plate appearances to qualify for a batting title so its generally what is considered the minimum threshold for a "full season." Now how they came up with that number for a batting title I have no idea.
Sounds like years 7-10 have team options, even if he doesn't reach the required number of plate appearances. That would seem to confirm no player options even in those years.
The only reason I questioned it was that the first report was a 6 year contract with no opt-outs, then they started talking about 7-10 and I got curious.
Would be interesting what turned up on the physicals for the Giants and the Mets to back out like that. He had a 13 year $350 mil deal originally with the Giants that turned to a 12 year $315 mil with the Mets and he wound up at 6 years $200 mil so had to be something there for 2 major market teams with some money to spend to back off. This is 2 offseasons in a rown now that Correa could not secure the huge deal everyone thought he would get and Boras is his agent who has a track record of holding out for bigger deals so something still seems fishy about how it all went down.
I was wondering about that, I can envision some scenarios in years 6-9 where he wouldn't reach the 502 appearances, but the Twins would still want him the next season. The vesting portion of the contract appears to be almost exclusively to the Twins benefit, not quite to the level of a standard 'team option' clause but not that far off.
Concerns about how his surgically repaired ankle from years ago would hold up long term.
Any double digit year deal is bad business imo because no way in last half of that deal is the production going to be there but the salary remains the same.
Depends on how you structure the contact. But even if it is split evenly, those later years are a little cheaper due to inflation.
Probably won't know until Lewis is physically back, but I would expect Correa eventually to move. It's been pointed out that his speed and lateral movement have already slowed, so I would expect in 2-3 years he will move and either Lee or Lewis take over.
3.1 plate appearances per game x 162 (games per season). Not sure where that came from, but it's been the standard as long as I can remember.
I hope goes out and has an MVP year to show the Mets and Giants the ankle worry was all a nothing burger.
