I really don't understand what they expect Campbell to say. Yes, the coach speak does get old, but at this point he is trying to replace 16-18 starters from last year. He talked about some of the changes and some guys that he was happy about. Spring and Fall practices are when he is going to figure out who is going to be able to play when the lights come on.

As far as I am concerned, as long as he keeps figuring out a way to win games, I am not going to worry about him not divulging every detail about the team, injuries, etc.

I really don't know why we even have press conferences with Campbell any more. He doesn't like them, and intentionally says nothing. That's not going to suddenly change.

Have the cojones to ask the questions...

We had a pretty decently sized fanbase before CMC got here as well. Pre Pollard days are another story.

Campbell isn't one to make excuses, but he and Meyer's both said preseason the OL was 11 deep. I think that's the number that got thrown around quite a bit.

So one of these can't really be true. Either we weren't legitimately 11 deep, the 11 weren't as good as they thought, or we were REALLY banged up. If we had more than 6 legitimate chronic injuries on the OL... that's concerning.

Agreed. And further, my preference would be that he not say much at all. We’ve all heard his philosophy and it seems to be a good one. No need to say more than necessary when it’s just filler.

It’s weird to me that so many of you folks think CMC didn’t say anything in that video. I think it’s far more likely that you don’t know how to listen.

He’s not going to break down player by player strengths and weaknesses in a presser with a bunch of reporters. Especially two days into Spring drills. I’m really not sure what you’re expecting.

I'm excited to see what Miller and Remsburg can do at tackle. I personally don't think the interior of our line was as good as it should have been last year. Hoping Downing, Hufford, and Simmons all show great improvement. I think the talent is there, we just need guys to be physical and consistent.

After the first quarter Miller was damn good against Clemson. He will be our best OL and is legit.

When I saw that comment last year, my immediate thought was the line wasn't going to be very good. Because if you don't say have a clear top 6 or 7 it usually means that it isn't that good and its just that a lot of guys are average.

Moving the needle for recruiting is nearly impossible, ISU isnt gonna pay under the table, wont out compete for NIL, has horrible weather, does not have an abundance of females, does not have legal drugs, does not have beautiful scenery.......

People seem to want to make judging coach interviews a varsity sport. I fail to see where coach interviews impact the scoreboard or the team's record. The interviews don't cost us extra coin. Why do we spend time judging the quality and content?

I can't expect coach interviews to be completely open and honest because I don't think the coach has the responsibility to be a scout for the opposition. I think the interviews are just "snacks" to tide us over until the games are played...unless I've got it wrong and the "game" is judging coach interviews.

I agree. Having 2 tackles playing tackle instead of 2 guards will help.

We had 5 interior OL playing the majority of the time last year.
