BYU takes down Kansas!

Just laughing watching BYU hit threes late. The McCullar injury/lack of depth probably can't be overstated.

They're at Baylor Saturday and then have KState at home and go to Houston to end the season. They could very well end the regular season dropping 3 of 4.

KU likely just played its way out of Omaha tonight.
Which only helped our chances of playing in Omaha.

As Pollard said on KXNO today, the selection committee simply takes their top 16 teams (note: NOT the AP top 16 teams) and then determines which of these teams have Omaha as their closest regional site. As of right now, those teams would be ISU, Baylor, and Kansas. The top 2 of these teams will be given the Omaha site.

Even though KU lost to ISU and falls below ISU in Big 12 standings, the fact they have beaten UConn, Houston, and another top 5 team has kept them neck and neck with ISU in the eyes of the selection committee.

Tonight's loss in Lawrence should definitely move Kansas below ISU, so we're sitting pretty right now for Omaha. However, we have to take care of business down the home stretch and that won't be an easy task.

KU still has to play at Houston and at Baylor. We should have a little wiggle room if we take an L somewhere along the way.

It is amazing that BYU won. I didn't turn on the game until sometime in the second half.

At one time BYU was down 2. BYUs center made a basket but was called for charging. The KU defenders feet were definitely on the restricted line (isn't that still a rule?). But nothing was reviewed (it goes without saying as it was at KU). Announcers did not mention it. But BYU coach got a technical. KU made two freethrows and then a basket to go up.by 6. I thought that was the end of it but was wrong!

Baylor’s closest first-weekend site is Memphis. Omaha is their number 2.

We have a knack for winning the big 12’s previous year format as it changes. (Fb adding ccg in 2020 and now maybe bb where we are looking like best of the original 10)
