*** BYU Pregame Thread ***

I am flying out for the BYU and Utah games.
Assuming I'll stay in Provo Saturday night, then somewhere else for a days.

Minimal research Ive done says there's a fantastic train/public transportation system.
Check out the Little America or Grand America. Those can be a great value if there isn’t a convention going on. Plus a 15-minute train ride to the U of U for the game.

All of that sounds great, and not to be a foodie, but does Ames have ethnic food, outside of perhaps Mexican? Indian, good Chinese or Japanese?

If not the recommendations sound great.
Someone suggested trying Ichiban.
Turned out to be a very uncomfortable STD.

NICE. Public transportation is indeed great. Frontrunner is fantastic, and the light rail Trax is pretty good. Personally I drove to the BYU basketball game back in the day and didn't have a problem finding parking. I also stayed at Springhill Suites for the football game and that was fine and an easy walk.

Trax runs right to Rice-Eccles, so other than fighting people coming and going, pretty straight forward. I have not tried to park there during a football game.

When the majority of comments in the pre-game thread are suggestions for an opposing fan regarding food choices to make while in Ames, it’s painfully obvious Cyclone Nation has pretty much tuned out for football.
Brother, it's a rare sighting for a thread to stay on track. Not that deep.

It was a bye last week so there's nothing to really go on for what this week will bring.

There were many in the last game thread that claimed the season to be over though.

Apparently ISU football is at a 'Conference Title or nothing' level.

Where do you think Konrardy would recommend visiting fans eat while in Ames?

5 or 6 Cincinnati guys blocking against 3 of our guys.

I am not Bill Belichick, but is that an advantage in the run game?

This D worked for many years with Will McDonald and Enyi Uwazurike, but we don't have 2 bona fide NFL guys anymore.

I don’t know that it’s just the talent level. The offenses are completely different than they were when that was implemented. The Big12 was 4/5 wide pass happy league then. We now have teams that are quite happy leaning on their offensive lines and just bludgeoning you all day long.

Watching CMC's press conference, I think both Bill Seals (in this tweet ) and Jake Brend in the Daily Clone missed what he said about Dom Orange. Campbell says Dom was "at least out at practice today", meaning he was out there on the practice field in some capacity, either just to watch or participate in some way. I do not think CMC said Dom was out/missed practice on Tuesday.

I also take Campbell's comment to mean, if Dom was "at least out there today" that he HAS NOT been out on the practice field during the bye week. I'm not sure if this is better or worse that Dom missing practice on Tuesday, but given that Dom has been dinged up this year, and CMC's tendency to describe someone as day-to-day while they're on a ventilator, I am unfortunately not counting on Dom seeing many, if any, snaps on Saturday. Hope I'm wrong!

No one has any clue. If we are on our A game, at home, we could win this game easily by two TDs, especially given what BYU is coming off of. If the Cincy/Colorado version of football shows up, we will get curb stomped.

I am not confident in this game at all. It might be just being beat down from the last few weeks. Unless this team gets some things figured out, I think we lose by 7 or 10.

Heacock was really good at keeping us in games against air raid teams. They are going to need to get back to the drawing board a bit to defend these mobile QBs

according to Blum, Konrardy will not do kickoffs.

BYU will likely start most of their drives in great field position.

I'm starting with just looking for some 'bounce' or urgency from the team for the game.

Maybe that's a confidence thing.
