***Bye Week Discussion Thread***

They are setting up for the Kick in the Nuts game in Arrowhead that I predicted weeks ago. You all have been warned.

There will be meltdowns because there's a few that think KU is forever 2013 KU; they have talent and close losses to decent teams with a very good coach.

I think attrition and other teams figuring things out has potential for a bumpy next few weeks.

No. Losing to KU would not be that big of a kick in the nuts. We’d still be on track for the Big12 title game. KSU is a still win and you’re in. I don’t believe ISU gets in the CFP without a conference championship. So, you can drop one game as long as it isn’t to KSU.

The tough part is…ISU has yet to put a complete game together. If they keep playing with fire they will get burnt. Maybe multiple times. The stretch they have is full of good offensive teams. At worst we could lose three games…not saying we will, but man this team has been playing on the precipice.

If you think there will be a 3-way or 4-way tie at the top of the standings, then Kansas is definitely important.

Since there's no full round-robin between BYU/ISU/CU/KSU, it goes to common opponents. Kansas is the only team that plays all 4, so they have a chance to play spoiler with 3 games left against CCG contenders.

Other potential common opponent spoilers:
Cincinnati - ISU, CU, KSU
Houston - BYU, ISU, KSU
Utah - BYU, CU, ISU

If we finish with 1 loss, the only other team we’d be up against would be CU. And we’d get in because of our record against KSU. I went through Mred’s calculator. I think we’re fine.

Thing about that game at Arrowhead is that KU has had a 4th quarter lead in all 8 of their games. They are 2-6, yes. But they've been in every single game, and even in control late. They aren't a terribly bad team, they are just a team that chokes like Scott Frost's Nebraska.

We lose two spots after a WIN. Imagine if we had lost that FCU game.
We dropped one spot. From # 10 to # 11.

Edit: I got you now. We dropped 2 spots over 2 weeks. The thing to keep in mind is that there were only 23 points separating # 9 ISU from # 11 Tennessee. So we were in a somewhat weak # 9 position.

Tech game looks Sold out now. Have not seen an announcement, but see no tickets outside resales left on site.

Edit: NVM, I refreshed and a bunch popped up, not sure what happened.

yall arent giving UCF enough credit. That O line is fantastic and the new QB effect is real. I think UCF wins this weekend and ends up bowl eligible. KJ jefferson was the problem. That's not a bad team at all
I didn't watch all the game, but what I saw, UCF looked like it was passing nearly every play even before they were ever behind. Like they were trying to prove they could pass. Strange to abandon your strength and rely on what is clearly your weakness.

Matt Ruhle's Nebraska does the same.

Saw the same thing. Was very weird.
