Football Writers-National Football Foundation Poll:

It was certainly looking like a L. (Captain Obvious). A first time 10 win season is back in the fold and I think about that more than making the playoff. At the same time I wonder what their record would be if Texas and OK would not have left.

I’m more worried for the Tech game after last night than I was before. Tahj Brooks is a beast of an RB, not too different from Harvey. Gotta get better play from the defense, and I’m really hoping UCF didn’t expose something on film

Higgins had a noticeable limp last night. I do wonder how many of the missed connections on long balls his direction were because he's not at full speed and timing isn't synched up yet.

After yesterday ESPN FPI odds would predict 3.293 more wins statistically to close out the regular season. I believe that's the first time that calculation would put us over 10 wins for the season. We are still favored in all the remaining matchups in their metric, but KSU is a toss up.

This is looking way ahead and I think it is likely BYU vs us in the B12 championship if we win out, but it'd be interesting if we played KSU to close the year, matched up in the B12 title game with them, and then played them to open the season in Ireland. 3 farmagedons in a row would be nuts.

It’s obvious that some of you folks find something to “worry” about Every. Single. Game.

A. We’ll be healthier in two weeks.

B. Tech had no defense. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch.

Gave up 59 to a modest Baylor team. Were horrid before that.

Hello?

This game will be fun to watch.

yeah i feel better after seeing Tech get smoked at home by baylor. Plus Tech's qb isn't the running kind. Tech's offense is the kind that I think our defense excels against. Plus their defense has to be just about the worst in the league.

With this current CFP situation, I’m treating this a lot like wrestling. Celebrate winning the conference. That’s the goal and that’s what we as fans should be talking about. What happens on the national stage is gravy. To chase the rankings and at large picks will only disappoint because the odds are stacked to the big dollar programs.

Brooks is a great back, but I think we match up better with his style and TT's roster. UCF ran the mesh very well, and their QB is a big, fast dude who can take it to the house. Harvey is a one cut speedster. For TT, Brooks runs a lot like Breece. He hesitates and hesitates until he sees a lane. I think we struggle more with guys like Harvey and Kaleb Johnson who don't dance and get up field as fast as possible. And TT's QB is not a threat whatsoever to run. Brooks will still get his, but if we're healthy, I think we match up with TT really well.

Agreed except Tech’s defense is historically bad.

I feel much better after seeing Tech get housed at home by Baylor. I think we’ll be another 14-15 pt favorite.

I mean it’s definitely the many years of being an Iowa State that makes me find something to be worried about. I don’t think Tech is good, but I didn’t really think UCF is that good either. Their defense is absolutely horrid, I agree there. If we can get up 2 scores against Tech I’m not really concerned

Let me put your fears at ease. Baylor put up 59 points on Techs defense
