When I ordered my TV on Amazon, it took a bit longer than normal items. They used a third party logistics company to deliver. The logistics company called me to schedule a time for delivery.
Although it took about a week and a half, it was well worth the great savings I found at Amazon.
So this isn't the time to bring up I am looking for a 32-37 inch TV for my bedroom?
Unless you are talking high end LCD, plasma just handles motion a lot better. The reason Panasonic are so highly rated is that they make somewhere around 60% of all plasma panels (the glass) and they now own the old Pioneer technology, which topped everything in the land (plasma or lcd). They have integrated the Pioneer stuff to some extent. They are still not quite as good as Pioneer was, but they are getting there.
There is nothing I hate more than watching a game and seeing the running back get all pixellated.
Im not too worried about the time, as long as its here by college football season. I made a mistake (or their info is misleading) I was reading it as the TV will be to me in 1 week. It appears now it will ship on monday which is a week after i ordered it. Either way not a big deal as I also had to order a new HD receiver and it wont be here right away either.
The price was too great to pass up. The same TV at Best buy was 200 more plus tax.
Sounds like we should try and make a decision quick then. I'd love to have people over for the ISU-Iowa game.
Follow-up...how hard are these things to set-up, that would be my hang up ordering online. I'm an engineer, so I'm not that worried, but I just thought I'd ask.
They are easy. The hardest part is finding the "correct" settings for the TV. I went to an AV forum to find recommended settings for my specific TV.
My plasma had a feature on it that was some sort of Energy Saver. It was turned on. I kept getting wierd shadows and the light would shift in and out. Someone on here suggested that setting and since has been a dream to watch.
If you can't manage to set it up yourself, I will consider you no better than a Kirkwood dropout.
Good news, the tv showed up before Mrs. MNCyGuy had to leave for class this afternoon! I was just wondering if IcSyU had ever tested out the online video thing, not that it will be a big deal right away, but thinking ahead to basketball season.
I just bought a 47" LG LCD 1080P from Walmart at the beginning of the summer. Absolutely love it. It ran me just over $900 with tax and a warantee play
What do people think about 60Hz vs. 120Hz? Is it worth going up to 120Hz like the guy at American claims?
You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this. I'm inclined to go with 120hz plus those TV's usually have a few more features as well.
Not an issue with Plasma.
