Sticking your feet under a player going up for a rebound so they come down on your foot and twist an ankle is just criminal. It’s a sure fire way to end someone’s season (or worse). And the nut punching over and over again is just insane.

Neither even close to a basketball play. Just obviously dirty and intentional. Of course, Big 10 let’s it go.

Creates a conundrum. No threat to score but real threat to injure
Good referees can handle a situation like this though. I still remember from bygone years the Seattle-Chicago NBA finals. The Sonics had picked up Scott Brickowski just to mix it up and be the Davison of the team against Rodman. He entered a game and as soon as he looked sideways he had two technicals and was back on the bench.

Not exactly sure.
I don't know if he was specficially trying to hurt Conditt. He does that crap all the time. I think he just does things that will hurt people and he must be encouraged to do so.
Really makes you question if Gard coaches cheap crap. Never paid much attention to Wisconsin. Would always hear Iowa whining but that is what they do. After the Michigan blow up and now them playing us, I see why they are disliked by so many teams. I guess I had seen the Davison nutpunch stuff.

To be honest, Johnny Davis was pretty whiny but the rest of the team (obviously not Davison) mostly behaved themselves. Davison's been doing that stuff since before college. It's an integral part of who he is as a person.

I don't know that I've ever seen someone two-hand shove an opponent to get around screens. There's no way that should be allowed in the game, and worse yet, he got the fouls called on us. Beyond the flopping, he's just a dirty player. Such a shame we had to end his collegiate career.

I don't have an issue with Davison- if it works, push the envelope.

I have a bigger complaint how officials call games. Two examples late in the game:
  • On the ISU inbounds pass that Davidson tipped away from Jaz, Davidson stuck a forearm into Jaz's chest and used the forearm for leverage to tip the ball.
  • Again with Jaz. The jump ball off the rebound. A guy with the ball can no longer swing his arms to protect the ball, it basically allowed the Wisky defenders to bearhug Jaz and get a jump ball.
That said, ISU plays very physical all-the-time and gets away with contact that a Steve Prohm team would have had a foul called. I love the style, right out of the Larry playbook.

These were both terrible calls. That being said, Caleb Grill has 10 fouls/game and I love him for it.

He definitely doesn't seem to be told to knock it off.

He only got worse as the game went on. Issues.

So let's count out the calls that should have been intentional/flagrant/T's.

-at least 3 times swinging elbows in a crowd.

-jumping/shoving Conditt on a somehow moving screen.

-holding the ball and complaining to the refs, slamming the ball.

-I didn't catch the strike at Kunz.

I've watched his career and he's always been sneaky but I think ISU really got in his head and we saw the true brat come out. If I'm a WI fan I'm embarrassed and questioning a coach leaving him in.
