You seriously want to compare Brackins to Aldridge? Aldridge almost declared for the NBA draft after high school. He was a McDonald's All American. He also was player of the year in high school basketball in Texas.

I know Brackins was a top 20-50 (depending on the site) guy, but he just doesn't have the high school resume that Aldridge had.

Aldridge is also a much better defender than Brackins and has great footwork in the post. Brackins can improve in these areas drastically.

Overall, Aldridge not only has the potential but he also was a better player than Brackins at all stages of their careers so far. He waited two years to go pro, and now he's getting paid $4 million a year.

Brackins could go now, but if he wanted to become a great player, he'd stay and develop.

He can develop in the NBA. If Brackins left after this year and played sparingly next year he'd be a better NBA player in 2010-2011 than if he was drafted after next year. Call me crazy but I think being in the NBA next season with superior coaching, more time to devote to basketball, and the experience he would gain would be very beneficial.
This year and next year's drafts are both lacking the sure things (outside of Griffin and Rubio) but to me he could go VERY high in the 2010 draft.
It will be a very tough decision for Brackins and I honestly don't know what I would do if I were him.

Its selfish as a fan but I hope a lot of NBA scouts tell him the same thing.

d) Why study for the ACT? I got a thirty five on all my pre ACT practice tests, so there's no reason to study.

We obviously have a difference of opinion. I think you are letting your love for Iowa State cloud the real issues here. You don't want to see Craig leave this year b/c we will suck again next year if he does. I get that

I think Aldridge to Brackins is a fair comparison. Yes Aldridge was more heard of coming out of high school but Brackins was no slouch

The only thing that Aldridge was better at at this stage of their careers was blocking shots. That is the only thing. Brackins defense isn't great right now but that is partlyb/c HE KNOWS he can't get in foul trouble. The second that happens we went from having 25% chance of winning a game to 0.

Brackins is going to be a first round pick this year. That is for sure. Lottery pick is debateable. Question is how confident is he in his game? B/c if he thinks he can become a solid player in the NBA and have a 10+ year career, than it doesn't really matter where he gets drafted as long as it is in the first round. He will make millions regardless
