Seems about right. A win @ KU would seal the deal.

Hadn't bothered looking at the brackets stuff beyond who's in or who's out until today.

1. Didn't realize that Iowa is hosting again (third straight year). Looks like this year they are going to be in a position of being favored to get to the Sweet 16 with a good seed and a senior laden team.

2. Still not sure about WVU and TCU being in. They have RPI's in the 60's and a combined 6-17 away from their home courts. There records are similar to ours but our RPI is a lot better. Of course the first 4 outs also suck so maybe there just aren't enough good teams to slot after the automatics.

Iowa will get to host if they are a top 4 seed since the committee changed backed to the top 16 teams getting to host.

Iowa is hosting because they would be a top 16 seed. 1st and 2nd round sites are no longer up for bid prior to the season.

Its pretty simple for Iowa State. Play like they did against Baylor (or OU at home) and they can play with anyone. Have a key player disappear and trouble starts...

how about #11 seed in Iowa City?

Never happen anymore than it would if we were hosting as a #3 and Iowa was the #11. NCAA isn't going to screw the hosting team by setting up a rivals game.

Women have a first four in? Seriously, an 11 seed is pretty much the last entry for a power five school...

Creme has last four in as:

Miami
Arkansas
San Diego
Tulane

They are all #11 or #12.

We did drop from #10 to #11, I think.

You mean first four out?

Since the women's tourney plays on home floors in the first two rounds, there are procedural bumps used to place teams in brackets if needed. So just because a team is an 11 seed, they could actually be a 10 or a 12 to keep the bracket even.

Dropped to a #12 seed - playing Ohio State in DC. Winner gets GW on their home court. Honestly, I think this is the best case scenario to make a sweet sixteen run. Might not be the easiest first round game but I would rather have GW on their home court then Florida State - which is where the first bracketology in the thread had us.

We were a procedural bump in the projection. According to Creme we are 41st overall which would be an 11 seed.
