***Bowl Games Thread***

A&Ms resume was beating Florida. Next best win was Auburn. Not to mention we already got to see A&M play Alabama and they weren’t competitive.
Coming into the playoffs we didn’t really know how good OSU was. We don’t know how good Indiana was. What we did know is A&M can’t compete with Alabama.

Basically people arguing for A&M are saying had OSU only beaten Minnesota, Illinois and Maryland you would’ve been good with their resume over A&M.

Impossible to know really..... just like tOSU was. I'd rather be playing someone that had more of a resume yes..... but it beats getting invited to the Music City Bowl against an awful Missouri team and having it canceled. And not only that, but supporting a racist head coach too..... yikes.

Mizzou had more wins than Oregon, playing in the SEC.

I could've seen A&M over ND in the CFP. ND didn't deserve to be there. A&M in over tOSU is nonsense.
Easy to say that with hindsight. But ND going 2-1 vs Clemson, Clemson and UNC looked better than A&M beating UF and getting smoked by Alabama.

What is your argument exactly? Because we know how A&M did against a better Alabama team than what Alabama is now..... and we don't know how tOSU would do against them? We don't know how Cincy would have done against Alabama either, so why not them?

Funny arguments here:

-OSU beat Northwestern, big deal. They’re OK, and sure they beat Auburn handily, but Auburn sucks.
- Texas A&M had a better resume. That Florida win was great. And their second best win was Auburn, who is a pretty solid SEC team. And I know they already got blown out by Alabama, but that resume is good. We all know that those wins vs Arkansas, Vandy, and S Carolina are still good cuz SEC.

What are you arguing? ISU has no choice in who they play. Neither Oregon or ISU made the playoff, and neither deserved to. What are you trying to say?

What we do know is that Iowa didn't play anyone even close to as good as Missouri or Oregon all year. So Iowa was truly a paper tiger with no good wins..... and one really bad loss.

How games do you think a team should have to play to be in the CFP? If Florida had played 4 games and was 4-0, should they have been in?

In 2020 there's no real answer. Sorry. Clearly putting a 6-win tOSU in was the right call because they steamrolled Clemson. This was a f*cked up year.

Yes. And that win and UNC was still better than A&Ms two best wins.

As it turned out today...... ND was the biggest joke of the top 4 teams by far. Clemson as it turns out wasn't that great.... and they were still WAY better than ND when they were healthy.

Yes it was. When you don't beat a single team with a winning record and end up ranked 16th.... that is a f'ed up year.

I'm saying you're bagging on tOSU for only playing 6 games, then on the other hand you seem to think Oregon is a worthy opponent... having only played 6 games earning 4 wins... and then calling Mizzou horrible who played 10 games in the SEC and won more games than Oregon. Getting a little whiplashy in here.

My point is OSU was 2-0 vs the last CFP top 25. A&M was 1-1. Cincy will finish with 0 wins vs ranked teams. My point is people are claiming A&M or Cincy had better resumes than OSU and they did not. Unless you think beating Vandy, Arkansas and S Carolina are really impressive.

So are we going to apply this same hindsight to A&Ms two best wins, Florida and Auburn?

Yeah I don't know enough about A&M's resume, so I'll defer. I just know ND had no business in there after getting dismantled by Clemson the way they did.
