Our defense is built around Big12 pass happy teams, not running teams. ND is a running team with one of the best o-lines in college football. This could be a game where ND could put up some big yards on the ground and ISU could really struggle to manage the clock.

I love a possible matchup with ND. It's all about the details though just like CMC preaches. IF we take care of that (no penalties) and a healthy DM I like our chances.
I would like a ND matchup. Nobody would expect us to win, great exposure for our program, and a chance to take down one of the big names in the game. Sets up perfectly for Matt Campbell and our team.
Last time we went to Disney, we flew into St.Pete. Best option if you hate big airports. If we(ISU) go to Orlando, we are flying through St.Pete again. and maybe stay in Tampa and drive to Orlando the morning of game day.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of driving down there. 4 passengers each taking a 5 hour driving shift. That's not too bad. Leave Tuesday evening. Get home Friday night/Saturday morning. It's a long drive, but not a difficult one.
Airbnb and stay at a nearby beach like Daytona, Cocoa or Clearwater beach.
I did that drive by myself many times, straight through.
Of course, I was Hunter S. Thompsoning it.

Rent a car and drive or pay $$$ and stay in Orlando and pay taxis/uber, rental car wins for me.
Our plan is to drive wherever we go. My wife and I will just take turns and drive straight through.
You do have a point there.
There is just something nice about not having to deal/worry about rental cars.
Did that for the Houston Bowl. Going down (hehe) is fun, the drive back....woof.
Now that Alamo bowl is pretty much out of the picture I am definitely pulling for Orlando. Warm and should be a good opponent.
No thanks! We always hear of ND as one of the "someday threats" for Campbell (with Ohio St, Mich, MSU, PennSt, ND) since he grew up in thick of Big 10 country. We want Urban and Kelly to stick around!

There are so many options in Orlando. I would guess that hotels near the Orlando Convention Center would be affordable because there probably won't be conventions being held at that time. They have 10s of thousands of rooms.
It is best to find somebody like you who has been there and had a great time and just take their advice. Pick a few things that you know you want to do and focus on them. For instance, the bowl venue is downtown. Most of the Disney stuff is a ways south. International Drive is a little south of downtown and is loaded with hotels, restaurants, bars, and activities. Universal Studios is not too far from the stadium. The "after hours" activity at Universal late each night would be good for music, dancing, and drinking.
My favorite experience was an airboat ride on a lake with lots of alligators. The ordinary ride is fun, but you can make it better. Call ahead and ask for the most entertaining driver. Tip the driver early and you will probably get some extra up-close-and-personal experiences. Tip him privately and you may be able to set up your friends for some pants-wettings.
This, for me, is a reason I would not mind Liberty Bowl at all. Everyone will be spread all over and there will be no place in Orlando that Cyclone fans can congregate like Beale Street. Plus a weekend game would result in thousands more fans making the trip (and closer).
Oh well, I will be where we are sent.
