Bowl Game Projections

Don’t be ridiculous. Liberty wants us back Andy Cactus would take us way before they take WVU. Our fans travel and both those bowl committees know that.

It is about the money and in this case that benefits ISU. We will sell far more tickets than most of these other schools. As much as that loss hurts and really unnecessary for such cheating, it really didn't cost us all that much. And we have a new target for our pain.

If Bowlassby is involved we will be in Toilet Bowl. Guy is a hok and will f*** us every time. Same guy involved in that circle jerk expansion and the incoherent rant about Rapelor. Perfect stooge for the TexAss money men! We will get 2nd worse bowl left. TTU will get last one.

With the second worst bowl potentially being Heart of Dallas (at large being worst) don’t count us out of getting sent to bottom.

Maybe...but if you're on one of the the big 12 bowl committees you want ISU over probably everyone.

Despite common misconceptions to the contrary, the bowl pecking order is no more outside the CFP pairings. Bowls go in a specific order but can pick any eligible team and not restricted based on league standing.

Are they still restricted by "conference tie-ins?" Are you saying that a bowl can pick any team with 6 wins from its league tie-in regardless of league standing?

Thanks to "fsanford" for posting this (this is the relatively recent agreement with the bowl partners):

From the Big 12 site
Big 12 Bowl Partners
Once the CFP has filled its bowl slots, Big 12 bowl partners will make selections from the remaining bowl eligible teams. Following is the order of selection. A bowl may pick from any available teams when it reaches its spot in the selection order.
Valero Alamo
Camping World
AdvoCare V100 Texas
AutoZone Liberty
Cactus
Zaxby's Heart of Dallas

I just hope we get a nice P5 opponent so the matchup is exciting. Location matters, but the opponent is pretty important.

For me personally it's 1) location with nice weather and then 2) a opponent we can beat. I think of all the teams we could potentially play we match up worst against Mizzou in the Liberty Bowl.

I'd love to play VT in Orlando or a PAC 12 team in AZ.

Why do you feel that way? I feel like the 3 man front would work well against a team that airs it out like Mizzou.

Agree with your takes on location and someone we can beat.

I'd rather play Kentucky in the Liberty Bowl than Notre Dame in the Camping World.

Camping World is technically a better bowl and ND is obviously a bigger name, but Liberty Bowl is on the Saturday before New Year's Eve, and it's on ABC. It also has a real name instead of being named for a tent and RV supply shop. So, it appears to be more prestigious. Most importantly, it's an extremely winnable game, and I really want ISU to get that 4th bowl win and finish 8-5 vs. finishing 7-6 after a 6-2 start.

Send us to Memphis!
