In Central WI one trying to come through the window Monday to get at a vase of flowers. We've had frosty nights.First hummingbird sighting at my feeder yesterday (Des Moines). He was hungry.
Daughter got a good look at rose breasted grosbeak and a worm eating warbler in Central Iowa this morning. Apparently that is only the second sighting of the warbler reported in Iowa this year.
She tells me I should put out the hummer feeder now. I have been putting out fruit for orioles for a couple of weeks but only the finches have been frequenting it.

Love the pic. What a fantastic specimen.

Thanks, really appreciate it!See image below. It's feeding off of the sapsucker holes in the elm tree just off of the parking lot. It's been seen in the cedars next to the elm. I saw it there but got my photo in some buckthorns 200 feet SW across the prairie...flew back and forth. Circled the eBird pin map for the areas I saw it. If it's still there it it's been reported to go back and forth from that elm, it's a good spot for it...lot's of holes weeping sap.
