Big12 Tournament Takeaway

Well, sometimes even a kick to the nuts needs more than a few minutes. But I was basing it on how he was standing in the tunnel. If it were an ankle I thought they’d have him sit down and take a look.

But at this point no one knows much. So to say he’s compromised sounds like PTSD.
He battled a groin injury all last year, looked to me like that happened again. Groin injuries don't just go away, thus the compromised statement, like I said hoping for 80%.

I've been pretty down on this team during its lulls this season. I really struggled to understand how a team with such a high ceiling could so often play with such a low floor against pretty mediocre competition. Tired? Exposed by coaches who figured us out? Didn't really matter - we looked cooked at a couple of different points.

This week was highly encouraging. When we show up we can play with anyone. If we do that, I think the thing that might be our undoing is going up against a team like Arizona that is just better than we are at grinding out buckets when they absolutely have to have them. They had more elite shotmakers, and only barely.

I sat right behind the ISU bench, not 50 feet from where Monte Morris hit that iconic shot to beat Texas in 2015. Tonight was a near carbon copy. Not much else to do but tip your cap and hope for a good seed and matchup.

Everyone on this team has the opportunity to be the star....and each night may be a different combo of guys.

This was a great three days for prep for next week. We likely won't play a team as good as AZ for several rounds....BUT, can't let up as a lesser team could sneak up.

Feeling great about the next few weeks. We've earned the right to gave a great seed and now just take care of business (and maybe we also get some luck if a Cinderella knocks off a team so we can get a "break" in a later round.

Milan: go be a March household name
Tamin: solidify your name and create many points off "Tamin Plays"
JJeff: stuff the star sheet
Toure: you got this, November you is back
Nate: glue guy...make the plays that win games
Batemon: continue to propel yourself into the "guy" for next year

I’m happy with the regular season outcome and the B12 tournament outcome and momentum rolling into March but we just don’t have the point production from bench guys to finish the job. Did we not scout Dell’Orso two games in a row? I’m not trying to whine I’m pleased and excited but damn that just stings.

Amazing game but Houston vs Arizona title game will have power and light line a ghost town tomorrow lol
Yeah, I was at the title game last year for Arizona v Houston. Good enough game, but a sad crowd.

Additionally: Buchanan and Pleta, defend the rim like the championship trophy depends on it

I am so dang proud of this cyclone team we can play with anyone as we proved tonight we are going to make a really nice run in the big dance book it

This team is peaking at the right time. There is maybe one or two other teams in the country that we don't beat tonight. Play like they have played the last 3 days and this could be a VERY special and fun 3 weeks.
Arizona, Michigan, Duke. The only teams in the country capable of beating the boys the way they played tonight. Won't face any of them until the Elite 8 at the earliest.

I've heard two analysts in the past week take about Iowa State. One said we'd go to the final four and other said we'd win it all. I think they were both CBS people. Tonight sure shows that either can happen.

Someone on ESPN mentioned he may have hurt his ankle. Better that than the groin.

Agree considering we played AZ even in our third straight game. My concern is the lack of bench scoring. Only 3 pts. tonight.
