Is this Rob’s twin? It can’t be the guy from last year. He has really figured it out! What a transformation! Kudos to him!
Yeah today he was our #1 big man. That last swat of the ball finished them off. Love it!
Loved it. Stepped right in and didn't back down. Left a few points out there, but that killer poke away at the end was great way to finish!
I love the nickname. Normally I hate forced nicknames. However, everyone was laughing at the bar and really rolling with the big energy and with his look physically, it just works and now he is one of my favorite players
Liked how Bacot was jawing RJ in the first half after blocking his shot. Like you about to find out who Robert Jones is dude, lol.
The announcers were mouthing off about rjs efficiency with only making 30% of his shots. He was just figuring out how to beat Baycot. Just kept getting better and better
Saw this at Spencer’s at the mall today and immediately thought of Rob. Then, because I am old man, I looked it up on Urban Dictionary to try to understand the joke. Then I laughed again.
Is there a better coaching up job in ISU hoops history than Robert Jones. Dude came in here throwing 100 MPH shots off the backboard from 2 feet away and now he had a respectable battle against one of the nations best big men.
The adjustment by the staff to force Bacot to be a passer combined with Bob Jones unbelievable effort against him won the game for Iowa State.
I think we’re really feeling the coaching impact of Green. How many small town Iowa guys like Eglseder did UNI develop over the years? Another positive, albeit unforeseen positive from that hire.

Huge credit to Rob Jones for putting in the work in the offseason. No way he would have had the muscle to stand in there with Bacot last year. He also has some legit post moves and making some free throws. Just a great job by RJ and the coaches helping him develop his game.
I thought it was a mistake for him to go at Bacot, it didn't turn out well the first few times. Boy was I wrong.
Really Rob showed pretty good footwork last year, he just had no touch. With even a little bit of offensive production and some mediocre FT shooting he’s going to get a ton of mins. Since Rob is my kids’ favorite player they were going nuts today.
