Big 12 WBB Tournament 23-24 Thread

Texas is DEFINITELY beatable. It also helps that we have a coach that will do a better job than Mittie in the closing minutes.

Last year, as I recall, Texas got in foul trouble early and it made a huge difference in the flow of the game. Taylor Jones will not be able to handle Audi.

I think Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda from Sioux Falls played great today in the 1st half. I didn't see her again in the last half...Crazy how deep their roster is..

Just getting to sit down and watch the ISU women's game from earlier.

Why does the play by play announcer keep saying that the "four major basketball conferences" completed their tournaments yesterday when metrics like real time RPI rank the Big 12 as third toughest and ahead of both the ACC and the Big Ten?

Brenda VanLengen has become an SEC homer since she started calling their games on ESPN and the SEC Network.

She commented during the game, "I haven't seen Audi Crooks play in person until Saturday; I've just watched a lot of film on her."

It would be nice to have PXP people who have called Big 12 games other than OU and Texas.

I miss Ron Thulin, who used to be the lead PXP for Big 12 women's basketball. He at least calls the Big 12 for TTU and TCU, so he is familiar with the league.

it'll be a tough game

whatever the outcome, they are going into the tournament sparking at the right time

Well, that will definitely happen next year.

With ESPN, we are probably lucky they just don't have Finebaum monologuing about LSU and Georgia football for the whole game.

That was unfortunate. I used to listen to her show and she always thought highly of BF.

Will be interesting to see what TV coverage we get next year. Early on it looked like the Iowa game (which turned out to be GOOD TV) was our only regular season national big ship TV until they bumped the Texas game off the Longhorn Network. We are adding some Top 25 teams but neither Utah or Colorado is any sort of national draw. ESPN knows that national fans aren't going to think, "Hey, the Utah whoevers are playing on ESPN, gotta tune that in!"

We are going to have to make ourselves the draw with Audi and company. Playing some real home/home games with teams of national interest would help but that's unlikely so looks like a good start and being ranked for exposure will have to be our jam. Crooks having the personality she does is a big plus up for the media attention. With Baylor fallen we have a chance to establish ourselves as thee top Big 12 team before Fennelly retires and the AD has figure out how to keep on top of the new Big 12.
