Big 12 Seeding for Wrestling

This is how I'd have it right now, knowing that there are still 4 conference duals this weekend (WYO/WVU, OU/OSU, UNC/AF, NDSU/SDSU) which could shift things around:

125- Mastrogiovanni 4-1, Cardinale 4-1, Teske 5-2, Surtin 4-2, Terukina 5-3, Prata 3-2

133- Fix 8-0, Biscoglia 8-1, March 3-2, Attasauov 4-3

141- Parker 6-0, Hart 6-3, Carlson 7-3, Young 4-2

149- Gfeller 6-0, McDougald 4-0, Degen 7-2, Edmond 7-3

157- Carr 6-0, Franek 7-1, Sheets 6-2, Jacques 7-5, Holschlag 5-3

165- O'Toole 5-0, Hall 5-2, Yant 6-1, Wittlake 4-2, Weber 5-3

174- Plott 6-0, DeVos 4-2, Hastings 4-2

184- Keckeisen 9-0, Kent 6-2, Coleman 6-3, Samuelson 4-1, Geer 4-3

197- Buchanan 6-1, Sloan 6-1, Bastida 5-2, Elam 6-3, Pentz 5-2

285- Elam 7-1, Hendrickson 5-0, Schuyler 6-2, Nevills 5-2, Wolfgram 4-2
Good information, thanks. Plott has losses to UNI and Missouri

I see that similarly to Marcus match yesterday. Both our guys are the better wrestlers. Fool me once, bet you can’t do that again.
Imo that loss to Hart was when Parker was wrestling much better than he has this year. If this was Parker 2 years ago, I’d agree.

I don't follow wrestling but have become a bit more interested thanks to the wrestling podcast on here. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

is there actually a regular season championship in wrestling like there is in basketball (reg season champ and tournament champ both recognized), or is it like football where the the title is decided by one game (or in the case of wrestling, the big 12 tournament)?

secondly, what are realistic expectations for the big 12 tourney and the national tournament (if that's what it's called)? Via the podcast it seems ISU is a good dual team, but may not get many all americans. I.E. very few weak spots but very few elite guys either.

I think we plan on winning Big 12’s

The Big 12 doesn't recognize a regular-season (dual) champion.

Realistic expectations for the Big 12 tournament would be 1st-3rd.
For NCAAs, probably 10th-12th depending on who qualifies.

Tournament success is based on top-end guys and bonus points -- neither of which are ISU's strong suit at the moment.

how is the big 12 tourney set up bracket wise? at each weight are athletes ranked 1-12 with the top 4 seeds getting a first round bye. there are 12 teams in the big 12 right?

Top 8 are seeded. The bottom 4 and byes are drawn in randomly.

also, how does one qualify for the ncaa's

Each conference gets allocated a certain number of qualifiers at each weight (which we'll know late next week).

So if 141 is allotted 5 spots, the top 5 placers qualify for NCAA. There are also ways to earn an at-large spot, but that requires a much more convoluted explanation of the whole process.

Pretty much this. David will do his things. It will depend on if Parker, Coleman, Bastida can find there way to the podium.
