Big 12 Refs Strike Again

Have you seen him get called for that in a clutch time in the game with 10 seconds left?
I'll never forget #1 Ames losing substate final to Marshalltown Harrisons Sophomore year because Chanse Creekmur had a blatantly obvious shove off on Bubu Palo that had the mediacom announcers blasting the refs after Creekmur made the shot with .9 seconds left in the game.
Refs let them play in the last 10 seconds unless it's necessary to blow a whistle.
We would be ****** if we were called for a foul in that situation.
Yeah I thought that was bad. It was like the refs were super aggressive on calling fouls 20 feet away from the basket, then when the game got in the paint they just closed their eyes... (Gathers with 0 fouls my foot)
As far as a loss goes, after how poorly ISU executed in most facets of the game(FT shooting, careless/unforced TO's, getting killed on the defensive glass), I guess losing by 1 on an end of the game shot after a couple of questionable no-calls, on the road is about as good as it gets.
Cant expect to show up with 5 minutes in the game on the road and expect to win. Great fight by the guys but this loss is on them not the refs
They're not a very dominant team.
It's funny--there's an awful lot of folks referring to last year's team on here. Last year's team typically had really bad starts, and was very lucky to win what they did. They were something like 0-13 for the beginning of their 'amazing' Big 12 Tournament Championship game.

The boxing out thing still stung quite a bit. When 3 ISU players are standing around/under the rim after a shot, that means none of them boxed out.

The push off was obvious, but no, you can't say it cost isu the game. Lots of other reasons to attribute that to. That said, encouraging they look that sloppy and keep it within 1, not encouraging is the poor rebounding, defense and free throw shooting...which is nothing new. Also nothing new, having to the refs be that inconsistent in their decision making and to isu's detriment. Beating ku is the bigger win...good to be in some close games of late. Need to get hot early
Didn't read one post on this board but I've been saying it to friends and colleagues since the Maryland game. You just have to toughen up. This teams toughness is not like last years team. This team responds differently. They feel more of the pressure. This team either needs to toughen up or blow someone out because we are 1-3 in games that I consider tough wins: Maryland, South Carolina, West Virginia and Baylor. There's no sense of urgency, no leadership, no one takes the reins and says get out of my way I'll pull us back. Biggest game of the year is just a few days away and we cant put Baylor away. The final shot is a whole different conversation but Fred needs to figure out a way where these boys figure out what real pain is, because this is in my opinion the most naturally God gifted team to ever grace Iowa state and that expectation means more than losing at Baylor with a chance to win. They need to suffer because all they have been told all off season is "this is a final 4 team" and I still believe it is, but final 4 teams grit games out that they have no business winning. Going forward j expect us to win Saturday, and I expect us to be right in the mix for a conference championship. go Clones!

And he slipped because he's not quick enough to stay with Chery (not many are). Our perimeter guys were getting beat off the dribble all night and it killed us, forcing the big guys to help and getting them out of position to rebound.
No way should that have been an offensive foul.
MM slipped more than anything. He was going one way and Cherry came to a sudden stop. There's no way that gets called for a foul.

********. Baylor shot really well. Last years tough team lost at Waco, Austin, KU, KSU, Norman and got prison raped in Morgantown. We'll see what happens the rest of the year.
I'm not, he used his extended arm to clear Monte out, but I think it looked worse because Monte slipped. I don't think it was that much of a push. It was enough to get Monte off balance and then he slipped. I think if the tables were flipped and they called it on Morris at the end of a game I would think it was pretty soft.
