Big 12 football championship

Since the Big 12 instituted the football conference championship game, do we know if they only crown the title game winner? Or do the also recognize the regular season, if there is a stand alone #1?

Obviously, I hope we make the title game and win. But if we happen to finish as the only 1-loss team in a full round robin conference slate, we should claim the **** out of that title.

Pretty sure the only big 12 football champion is the one that wins the championship game, unlike in basketball.

There might not be a trophy, but finishing alone atop the standings would be its own prize.

There is a chance the game isn’t played. Then it would be really important to finish 8-1. They would give us the championship. Otherwise it’ll be a 4-way tie yuck
