Big 12 Awards

Gundy should have been unanimous. He was on the hot seat coming into the season, and OSU was predicted to finish middle of the conference. Not sure what happened against UCF, but they only lost two conference games and the way they had played between ISU and UCF, they would have easily beat both team the way they were playing. Seemed like after ISU a fire was lit at OSU and they were playing fantastic football. Again, don’t know what the **** happened when they played UCF. Almost like they expected to win just by showing up.
I don't know about unanimous. If you say Gundy should get it because he was on the hot seat and they were predicted to finish middle of the pack, well Neal Brown was a dead man walking and was thought to not even make it to October. Couple that with his team was predicted to finish dead last and most thought they would struggle to even win 3 games. Finishing 8-4 (6-3 Big 12) and should have been 9-3 (7-2 Big 12) but for that Houston Hail Mary, is impressive considering what they were thought of coming in.

I think these teams make sense...

But they also easily break any tie between Gundy and Sark for Coach of the Year. Gundy easy CotY in this context.

At least in my opinion. Second place finish and CCG without getting any more players on these teams than a lot of other teams and way less than Texas.

Yep. Both Brown and Campbell's teams were left for dead at the beginning of the year and have turned expectations around.
They both had ****** years last year to lower the expectations, they shouldn't benefit from that.

Brown only played OU I believe and had a significantly easier conference slate
True but they were supposed to lose pretty much every conference game this year, even against the newbies. No joke go back to the preseason. People were putting their o/u win total at 2.5 and at best four wins.

I have never been a fan of OU and UT getting COY awards when they get 5 stars and have a distinct advantage with talent. NO way Sark should have been COY with all that talent and escaping losses with single digit wins. I'm fine with Gundy but as mentioned Neal Brown was fighting for his life and pulled it off. If CMC had done better against KU at home and only lost to OU and UT then he would have been the winner. But congrats to Gundy.
Moving on: I noticed that Vaughn and Sandowsky made HM and remember, the coaches pick the teams not the media. ZRF has been way out of line for continually referring to those two and the other linebackers as "trash". Proves how much Coach ZRF knows about football and his eloquent lengthy analysis.

I credit Sark for doing something that no coach has been able to do since Mack Brown. If it's not the traditional side of coaching, then he's managed the egos in the room better than anyone in a long time.

But you're right. **** Texas

I would have given COY to Brown (1) or Campbell (2). If your team gets absolutely stomped by South Alabama and UCF you shouldn't win COY in my opinion.
Those aren’t conference games. Conference awards generally are for performance in the conference.

He played all the 7 worst teams in the conference. I don’t think any other team can say that. He had the big ten west schedule

. Agree!!!! Still, Am I the only one that sees his throwing motion as a bit of a shot put, side armed?
Always looks awkward when he throws? Anyone else see this here?

Yes. I said this during his RS year. It looks like there’s no way he should be able to get that much zip on it with how his arm gets cocked. Clearly, it works just fine but it’s strange given his dad that it wasn’t coached out of him.

His dad was a TE. Brian Ferentz said he doesn’t even know how to throw a ball and he was the QB coach.
