I was listening to Rush today. Had a commercial selling secret code embedded in the Bible that would make me wealthy. Anyone tried it?

I can't imagine Rush selling something, or allowing someone to sell something that wasn't true, just for the sake of putting a few bucks in his pocket. I say go for it, it's using the Bible, how could you go wrong?

There are a whole bunch of "here's how to get rich" schemes. I watched a "commercial" on this same thing - I'm extremely skeptical. I believe that it comes down to one's own motives on the accumulation of wealth. If it is only to become rich, more & more money will never satisfy (even if said scheme ends up working for you). If a person is looking at becoming a better steward of the money s/he acquires, then money won't be the driving force. Many of these schemes - even those which spout a "higher purpose" or "divine" wealth - are based upon the LOVE of money and they appeal to the basic greed that we humans tend to struggle with - IMHO.

A great example of why 1) I haven't really listened to Limbaugh since the 1990's (when his show was still pretty darned funny, IMO) and 2) why I run from literalists of any kind, a fast as I can. Despite my best efforts to strengthen my own hybrid faith. But that's just me. I respect all others unless/until they use their "faith" to harm others.

The key to getting rich with religion is to start your own, people will just throw money at you if you tell them it'll keep them out of hell.

The only thing I've heard from Rush about wealth is this:

take simple minded people, tell them they are special but the other ones aren't, ask for money, repeat.

Here it is:

The Biblical Money Code

Saw it awhile ago. I was interested to check out because this guy is on financial news networks at times. Starts out kinda interesting, but it is EXTREMELY repetitive. I was ready to put a bullet in my head by the 20 min mark.
