Did is anyone else notice the bottle of tequila jimmy and Kim swindle out of that stock trader is the same brand Gus uses to poison the cartel guys in breaking bad?

Mike's storyline is keeping me interested. I agree that it's been a bit slow otherwise.

If you think this is slow then you didn't watch breaking bad or you are selectively remembering only the exciting parts.

Saul has exceeded my expectations that I originally had for it when I heard they were going to make a BB parallel. The crossovers are being done very well. Remember we're still early on, it will get more "exciting" once the character development stuff runs its course.

I could watch a show just about Mike.

They are likely referring to an end date for the main plot of the show. The show really takes place in the past. We get quick glimpses of Saul in the present, but the show itself isn't during that time. So you could end the show when Breaking Bad starts, while also showing Saul in the future, and it would still be totally accurate to say the end date of the show is when Breaking Bad started.

I like it more BECAUSE they can talk for that long. They are really developing the characters. Makes you care more about them.

Agree - that's why the "present" is in black and white. it's to show Saul the poor choices he made and his recklessness turned his life into a miserable shell of itself.

I think the shots from the future are done to set up the events of the show from the past. It's showing how much Jimmy/Saul has changed. Shows him longing for the past by watching his old commercials.

I guess they could end the series by showing something significant happening in the future, but it may just end up that Saul fades off into nothingness in the wasteland of Nebraska.

Saul started off quicker than BB due to Tuco and Jimmy scamming. BB was extremely slow for the first part of its inception. My wife and I actually stopped watching it due to being too boring, then plowed through it on Netflix after it ended after everyone raved about it. After forcing through the first part of Season 1 again, I'm glad we came back to it.

As for Saul, the latter half of Season 1 and start of season 2 have been a slower lawyer drama. The Mike episodes have been great. (Mike was one of my favorite BB characters.) This season has been transitioning away from lawyer drama as Jimmy is starting to turn into Saul and Mike has been getting more involved with the Cartel.

I can't wait to see if/when they show Hector getting turned into the wheelchair bound bell ringer.
