So many names that I've never heard of (especially from the cookie monster-core groups). I guess the only name that I haven't seen so far that I do believe belongs on here is John Frusciante (formerly of the RHCP).

I can agree with a lot of the names thrown around here and it is all your personal taste so I respect that from all of you.

A subjective question, of course. But Clapton and Allman on the original Layla is guitar nirvana to me.

For underrated: Willie Nelson is one hell of a guitar player.
