Becoming a Dad Tonight!

Don't forget pee. Those little guys will go off like a sprinkler system.

My advice, keep a washcloth on the changing table, and cover him up while you are changing him. Just in case it goes off.

I learned this the hard way. My eldest decided to sprinkler me one morning and doused my best pair of khakis right before I was leaving for work. I ended up late because I had to change and clean off the wall, which also took a hit.

Because of this post whenever the word sprinkler is mentioned I will chuckle.

It just goes everywhere.

It doesn't get much better as they get older either. My 6 year old made the bright decision to try and pee in the toilet while standing on a step stool next to it. He ended up peeing all over the shower curtain.

They miss all the time. Even more than adult males.

This actually was a huge problem with my MIL on our first. She would want to sit up and hold the baby at 2:00 a.m. when he actually was asleep. But grandparents can be a big help too. My mom was always at the ready for food, laundry, errands, and finding fun things to do with the older boys. It's great they are excited!

My firstborn had to spend his first four days under the bilirubin lights. My mother was there to help out, but there was nothing for her to do since he was in the hospital still. She had just taken a class in re-upholstering furniture (no clue why), and she decided to reupholster our ratty old couch. Entertaining, to say the least!

Cover it when you're putting them in the bathwater, too. Something about the warm water touching them ignites the "fountain of youth"...
