Beat Iowa Dual Thread

I'm sure KD won't know these stats at all or use them on the recruiting trail at all...

We knew this coming into the dual. All you have to do is read the commentary in the National duals thread. Iowa does not score points unless they significantly outmatch their opponents.
Which I think Angelo was probably looking to during the start... until Dean funky legged out of the first shot.

Not big into wrestling, but i have two boys who started wresting for school this year. Took the boys to the meet on sunday and had a blast.

Just one question...

Since we beat Iowa shouldn't we be ranked above them now?

We moved up, but iowa stayed put.

Dual rankings we jumped them and are now 3rd. Tournament rankings are difficult to understand for casual fans, but basically the rankings have higher ranked individuals for Iowa that will score more points in March

I went and looked at this as well, based on current rankings projected points at ncaa's (without any bonus potential) looks like this for the two rating sources. Notably Flo is including Frost at 149 at #4 where intermat still has Paniro at #10. Disconnect from dual score at least partially comes from Kennedy still being ranked higher than Gaitan by both services. Other than that relative rankings mirror outcomes for the dual matches.

I wouldn't worry about it. Either one (or likely more) of their transfers or older guys, TnT will run into the ground, and those wrestlers will sh*t the bed at NCAAs and not maximize their point potentials. Happens like clockwork every year.

Carr ran over to the coaches & told them about the locked hands & then they challenged is what I saw. We sit directly across from where Carr & Frost were sitting. I didn’t see it live, but friends watching on tv saw it.

Carr was sitting just a few yards from me. He erupted when he saw the locked hands not called.

If you just watch David in the corner, it’s hilarious. He get away with whatever he wants that anyone else would get yelled at…. because he’s David Carr. He’s still the backbone of the program.

This is true. David Carr is still a huge part of this team and cares so much about them. He was putting his camera right in the faces of various teammates after the meet.

Those wrestler’s best shot at a championship are in the first two years at Iowa. After that, the brand‘s boys will break them and have them floundering around.

Telford was the first one
Serious question. Was Telford under some sort of gag order? In previous meets, it has been really interesting to hear what he yells to the Hok wrestlers and refs. But this year, I never heard him say a thing during the matches.
