***Baylor FB Game Week Discussion Thread***

Watched Baylor's last two games and they like to throw the ball up, a lot. So they're going to test our DBs and right now I think that plays into our favor. If we can win a couple of those one on one battles and our offense can score efficiently, I like our chances to win and cover.

Baylor has 2 QBs who are better than either one of the Houston QBs. We will be tested when they have the ball.
I don't think we are in a position to feel overconfident with anyone, really. It would be great to cover the spread, or win by more, 3-4 TD's.

This team needs to keep its head to the grindstone and play hard every game, like every game is the most important. I know that's not possible, but we are not good enough to just show up.

As soon as we start to feel overconfident, either fans or team, that's when we will likely have a letdown game.

I'm afraid this game is gonna be significantly impacted by the wind. Weather Underground is calling for wind gusts up to 41 mph during the day and 29 mph during the evening.
Hope we're planning for this and hope we can move the ball on the ground effectively.

Not that I care too much, but I wonder if this could also impact the drone show and fireworks display that are planned.

They need to do what they did at Houston but with better execution. Keep grinding until the other team breaks.

After a very, very quick (30 second) scan of the ticket map, there may be 200 unsold tickets. That's a sellout in my opinion. Wish everyone would quit getting their panties in a bunch about that and instead focus on our real enemy - the horrific weather & wind. This is supposed to be the best month of weather of the year.

Yeah, I have since heard this feed back and it is fair. Its just. I am watching this man drop DOTS on 15-20 yard routes and I am just asking for consistency on 5 yard out routes.

IDK how much a physical impairment would impact a 5 yard out route considering it should be a fairly easy throw. However. I get it, and if it is that I hope he gets it right and healed up.
SIAP but…

A 5 yard out to the far side of the field is a MUCH harder throw than a 15-20 yard throw over the middle.

College hashes are 20 feet from the sideline and 40 feet apart. Assuming Rocco is 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage out of shotgun or a 3 or 5 step drop, a “5 yard” out from the hash to the far sideline is a ~22.5 yard throw for only five yards.. plus the added difficulty of being a sharp angle and needing to rifle it to avoid a pick six.

Rocco misses a few throws and now his arm is going to fall off. Sheesh people.

I don't know anything about the proper way to throw a football but it's clear he's trying to aim the ball. The misses are due to technique nothing physical.

Baylor has played the two teams atop the conference and the team who i still projected to win the conference (and are a couple plays away from being 4-1), houston hasn't. the numbers you're wanting to reference dont paint the full picture 5 weeks into the season
Five games in, a horrid Baylor being half the reason those two teams are atop the conference certainly doesn’t paint the full picture, either.

Who said that his arm is going to fall off?

Yesterday even Rocco mentioned that “working with trainers” was part of what he’d been doing since the game to get better.

He might have a strained muscle in his shoulder affecting his throwing motion. Who knows?

Not like anyone is going to say anything. At least, not before CMC says something when Spring ball starts.

Nobody here knows that he has anything physical going on affecting his throws. Nobody here know that he doesn't either. Saying that there is nothing wrong for certain is just as wrong as saying there is definitely something wrong.

So glad we won that game. I remember it, watched it on TV. I'm sure we might not have been complete angels, as in any game, but it seemed to me that Baylor caused most of it, very chippy, and aggressive! They were a product of their coach at the time, ahem, the one now at kNeb.

We should have a Rhule not to name him directly.

They absolutely were trying to get Hakeem and David kicked out of the game. Just dirty football, no surprise from Baylor/Rhule.

I will say I think Aranda is a decent guy. Sucking at the coaching thing, dead man walking... but not a scumbag of a human.

They'll probably go hire Briles Junior to replace him.

I don't like Rhule. What makes it even tougher with him is he's good.

Rhule will do anything to win. Some respect to that and if he's your coach you probably love that but he's very unsavory.
