Barstool Sports

I used to consider myself a Stoolie back in the day.(2010ish-2016ish) Had the logo on my computer, fridge and on one of my cars. I would spend 90% of my time on the net between Fanatic and Barstool, but when they started to become a pop culture site I stopped wasting time on the site. Honestly it all started going downhill when they hired that ******* Tavern Hawk, Trent.

I still look at it most days, but only to check out what the Barstool Chicago/Redline Radio guys are up to and I read all of Reags basketball blogs. The guy is incredibly knowledgeable about college ball and seems to love CSP and the Clones. Enjoy Pageviews outdoor stuff as well.
It’s tough to find a middle ground. While you don’t enjoy the pop culture stuff, I think I heard that the female podcasts are getting huge numbers so it makes sense to hit that demo.

Barstool keeps getting more and more mainstream and I don’t think it slows down as long as they can keep their core guys and I don’t see them leaving.

Anything worthwhile on Barstool will get linked here. No need to spend time there.

This. Their "Buzzfeed" type stuff is unbearable, and its becoming a large portion of the site. But the ones that actually fit the "common man sports fan" demo are worth following along with, at least for a cheap laugh and some original stuff.

Also, what has Trent actually done in the past two years?

I don't think he really does anything. It seems like the stuff he does is just to keep him busy. I can't imagine how he got hired.

Bump

Still a huge douche.

Hate Portnoy as much as the next guy, but...

- His only disguise was a clearly fake mustache and the NFL let him in

- Though he is banned, he was in the game and just sitting in his seat when security told him during halftime he had to leave

- He said he wasn’t walking out of there, leading to him being dragged out

He was also invited to the Patriots post game party and actually was in, but later on the NFL escorted him out there.

In both instances, security let him in and by all counts was actually behaving well, other then being somewhere where he was banned

Was this not a publicity stunt? He's just really that stupid?

The fact that the NFL wastes resources on a blogger that hurt the commissioner's feelings with a t shirt design is hilarious to me.. It was brought up on PMT this morning, but what if a legitimate incident that threatened the public took place as Goodell's security team was chasing Dave Portnoy and PFT (who wasn't even there) around the stadium?

I enjoy their Sirius XM station for the most part. There is a few shows that are just not for me (chicks in the office) but overall it's a decent listen during the day.

Been listening to PMT for years. Outside of those I just follow on social. I have bought some of their SAFTB merch.

Also the pizza reviews are hilarious

The answer to both of your questions is Yes.
agreed.

PFT and Big Cat need to branch off. Portnoy and about 90 percent of Barstool are annoying, but I love PFT and Big Cat. They are certainly big enough to make it without Barstool's backing.

Now on to Portnoy-- while I can't stand him I can't quite figure out the NFL's grounds for booting him. Refusal to credential him and PFT is bull****. Also what has he done to get barred from a game he bought tickets to? It's not like he's a security threat.
