Availability Report Week 0

And 1 + 6 equals 7 and there are 7 letters in ‘Ireland’ just saying. Open your eyes people.
No. I mean, like there was a form with sixteen spaces, and both teams just decided to fill it—including with redshirting players—just to be safe.

Conversely, since we showed no one “doubtful”, that was the space limit.

Maybe just on the attachment.

Edit: To be clear, the odd that both teams have exactly sixteen players injured seems slim.

I’m not a betting person, so that part doesn’t affect me. But I don’t need to know injury reports as much as opposing coaches don’t need to know either. I preferred hearing right before the game that a guy was in street clothes.

Yeah, I think forcing teams to do injury reports is really stupid. I find it weird so many fans care about it.

I did find it interesting that we listed players as out or questionable. K State listed players as out, doubtful, and probable. Likely just coaches figuring out this whole system.

Eh, I don’t have a strong opinion either way. Leaning towards preferring them. What’s the difference than finding out of a guy is out now or on Saturday?

This might be better than 2 pages of people freaking out the day of a game when Hines tweets out someone is in street clothes during warmups, imo.

I wonder how this really works. If a guy is listed out today, what happens if he plays? Like, can they move someone up from out to questionable between now and the game? What kind of penalties are there for gaming the system?

One thing I do like…this sure beats pregame reporting on twitter saying this player is in street clothes not warming up. Seems like every Game 1 we had a half dozen guys in street clothes that we had no idea were hurt.

They aren’t going to list a player as out if they had a chance to play. They would be questionable, or even doubtful. If you’re listed as out, they know you’re out.

This is terrible news. I wonder how long Buhr will be out…. have to imagine it will be a while if he’s listed as out and not questionable. Uggghh.

He’s “out” because they aren’t flying a contagious player to Ireland with the rest of the team. Do you not understand how bad things would get if he got the rest of the team sick?

I feel like people are still going to crash out when players are designated “out” if there is no reason given for it. For example, Bacon would have been continually listed as out of this was in place last year. Not much has changed other than we know on Wednesday instead of Saturday and that people not even on the 2 deep are out. Those players weren’t really on the radar for injuries for most fans.
