Audi Crooks to Transfer

I keep seeing people say Audi is giving up having her jersey retired or something.

She’s never made it past the first weekend of the tourney and it certainly wasn’t happening next year. That jersey was never getting retired.
Recency bias. All Americans who set school scoring records live in the rafters.

The WBB attendance exaggeration is ridiculous.7000 average is more accurate with ridiculously low ticket prices for 6000 of those seats. I attend the games.
The real eye opener was the last time we hosted an NCAA tournament game. Easily one of the largest crowds all season and official attendence was barely above 6000. I guess the NCAA counts tickets scanned instead of tickets sold.

this just made me sad because it reminded me of losing Soares early that year. Probably our last chance at even sniffing a final 4.

Jensen hardly played and is coming back. I would love to see Wilson come back too as I think with Jada and Beaty gone she could compete for a big role either as starting or backup PG depending on what happens with portal signings
This is really bad. Especially if we are hoping Regan Wilson comes back lol

Follow the timeline…Tanke, LT, Jensen and Wilson were the first to announce.

Okay, and now everybody else has cleared out so the playing time isn’t an issue.

I’m sorry all of these theories don’t hold up under even a bit of scrutiny.

2021-2022: This was an easy team to root for - look at the offensive balance in this game:
Kane - 11 FGA - 10 Points
Ryan - 13 FGA - 15 Points
Lexi - 13 FGA - 20 Points
Joens - 14 FGA - 12 Points - named to 3 All-American Teams and won Cheryl Miller Award

We were on top of the world here - Ash announced she was coming back for a Super-Senior year, Lexi was an established all-arounder, Ryan coming off her best season and Stephanie Soares brought in for the post. I'd like a do-over please...

It's too late for Audi. Our staff and strength and conditioning team absolutely failed her.
While that is true, Audi also bears responsibility.

Audi failed herself. She should've known what she needed to do to improve her game, and what was needed to improve the team, but she took the easy route. She parked herself under the basket without working to get open or developing a mid-range game or become an outside threat. She just expected perfect pass after perfect pass.

And she didn't seem to give a hoot about playing defense.

There are plenty of valid critiques of her defense, and even some of her offense not related to scoring, but moving her out of the paint to try to score from the outside would be a criminal action by a coach. She scored 800 points in back to back seasons.

Fair point. But is maximizing Audi going to maximize her team? Does maximizing Audi just lead to losses to good teams?

I was at that game. Cannot believe that is the last time ISU hosted 1st-2nd Round Games!

You don't think these girls have enough on their plate already that now they're supposed to go out and be self-rainmakers? With all of their 20-year-old business acumen and legal knowledge? LOL. You can't say "well, their agent can line up those deals" either, these aren't professional athletes (yet), they don't have professional rainmaker agents like the pros do. In fact, most of the "agents" for college athletes right now barely qualify as agents in the traditional sense. I fear many of these kids are going to be taken financial advantage of them.

This is going to sound bad but I hope these athletes do get taken advantage of and get hit hard by the IRS.

Teach them that "uncle bob" or best friend from high school are people they should be listening to.

In all fairness I thought they got screwed on hosting the following year. They beat Texas to win the Big 12 tourney, I dont think the comittee figured that in and gave them a 5 seed.

If you saw her limited 3s you’d know it’s basically the equivalent of asking Robert Jones to do the same.

I don't know if it was too far out of line. Texas won regular season title, was only B12 team to host. OU was 2nd and got a 5, ISU 3rd w/ conf tourney and got a 5.

Lot of Big 12 teams in the NCAAT that season, but overall not strong at the top.

Maybe UT should've been a 3 instead of 4, I can't say without deep-diving. Or perhaps Iowa State getting a 4 instead of Tennessee, also not certain without trying to cross-reference.
