Northwestern? I know they have a wealthy alumni base, but wasn't sure they would open up the check books for the athletics department.
Pretty much one name: Pat Ryan

He might be the future majority owner of the Bears too once Virginia McCaskey dies. He is a minority owner now.

Wonder if they have the private donations secured for this already? They announced big stadium plans a few years back but never got the money. I can see the same thing happening again when KU starts racking up losses in conference and reality sets back in.

I live near CF and I would rank this near the KU announcement. I'll believe it when I see it. No one around here who cares about UNI likes that AD at all and it's very unlikely that this get's properly funded and if they do, it will get screwed up. It's honestly too bad.
