Athletic Facilities across the Nation

This isn't college but this is pretty cool what the Utah teams are doing to their Arena to try and get the best views for both basketball and hockey.

What is that stadium used for when they play in the regular stadium? Is that their soccer facility, or just something set up in an open area with temp bleachers etc?

I know they are only playing there while the construction is being done on their new stadium, just not what this is/was used for regularly.

And when is the new stadium scheduled to be complete?

Think that might have been their soccer facility that they added bleachers too. If not that then it was their practice fields.

New stadium is suppose to open next season (2026).

That's a practice field, right?

Honestly, are there 10,000 seats there?

Looking a bit further, Ryan Field is set to open for 2026 season. Pretty sharp. And NU's campus on the lake, pretty cool. The other photo appears to be where the Wildcats are playing this season only while Ryan is under construction.

(Oof, tomorrow NU hosts Oregon.)

Some family here in Omaha just gave Creighton $300 million. It is for new athletic facilities of course, but also just generally improving the entire campus. Local radio guys made it sound like the money will be used also to get the best basketball players. That would make sense. Not going to spend coin like that to place 5th in the Big East!

IN a NIL world the future should be bright for Creighton. Don't have to worry about football.

I’d have to imagine that in the near future, there’s going to be a limit per a sport, and not just a school.

It is primarily soccer and lacrosse. The only stands that were there before last year were along the west sideline. The north and south stands, the west boxes, the video boards, and all of the "tailgating" space south of the field is temporary and will get taken down once Ryan field reopens. The satelite view from google maps still has it without the extra stands: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.058...try=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDkxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw==

How many billions of dollars worth of real estate do we thing Northwestern is sitting on? 10? 20?

Same with Loyola in Rogers Park.
