Very rarely will they actually call a guy out on an appeal like that. Runners almost always get the "in the neighborhood" benefit of the doubt, just like a short stop attempting to turn a double play.

I thought for sure we were done after we failed to get Ryan in with no outs after his lead-off triple. Got all the way to two outs with runners on 1st and 2nd and Pujols absolutely SCORCHED that ball over the head of Kemp.

I LOVE IT. What a game though, wow. I can't believe that.

I know. My point was the Cards couldn't have been in a better position to score a run than a lead-off triple (save a lead-off walk-off), and the runner doesn't score. Worked out in the end. Thank god, it's way past my bedtime.
