Where is your list of coaching replacements? Who takes us to the next level?

I can give you a list of good coaches that would have the OPPORTUNITY to do great things here. You don’t want that though. This is a ****** argument and intentionally stupid. So as long as you keep being stupid and ****** you’re not getting my list.

$5/month is all it takes and you can complain all you want and I’ll never say anything

What if I told I was responsible for driving over $1500 in donations to We Will, of which $150 was my own? That happened just a few months ago on this very site. I don’t like playing that game. This isn’t a “pay to complain” scenario. Everyone is allowed their thoughts and opinions freely, and you might want to take a look in the mirror about what you look like when you spew this kind of drivel. Be mad, disagree, dont be a mad disagreeing ******* that uses money as their avatar.

Who’s “they?” Are they in the room with you right now?

The TJ haters. Have nothing to do with ******** that are TJ haters or Campbell haters. They are ******** who suck all joy out of life. They ***** and whine constantly and offer no real solutions. Miserable people.

Are you poor? Why don’t you donate more?
Kinda telling that 1, you criticize someone for giving when other than giving bad takes you don't state what you give and B, I don't know what bubble you live in or what job you have, nor do I care or need to know -

but whether someone is poor or not - yeah. Things are tough for a lot of people right now. Its probably not as good or as bad as whatever side of the media you listen too, it rarely is, its almost always somewhere inbetween what both sides say, at one time closer to one, sometimes closer - but point is yes, times are tough for many many people. I'm not saying that's the case for the person you responded to but personally, if someone can give $2,5 or 100 or more, I'd never make a snide remark about that.

This thread is quite the whirlwind. I'm grateful for the thousands of you that are supporting Iowa State in whatever way you do in order to provide an outlet for people to complain about being 8-2 in Football, having a top 5 men's basketball team, a top 10 women's basketball team and a top 5 wrestling team. Because without your support, this forum would be a ghost town.

We just need a coach as good as our basketball coach and we would be set.
I doubt that. Because the football coach has done more. We've had success before in basketball. We've won the league before in basketball?

Not so much

@State2015 come get your boy. I paid and fundraised to complain.
Still looking for the list.
Barry Odom of Unlv (retread from Missouri)
Spencer Danielson, Boise St (zero ties to Midwest and 1 year of coaching experience)
Jon Sumrall, Tulane (will be hired by SEC school this cycle)
Jamey Chadwell, Liberty (badly underachieved this year and make culture issues within the program)

Once again have zero faith that any of these people could be above .500 at Iowa State and I believe that Campbell has evolved quite a bit as a coach and that the best years of Iowa State are ahead of us. He is an elite fb coach who will eventually have a statute and field named after him in Ames. We are lucky to have him and for him to have stayed at a discount for a decade.

This is why I’m not giving you my list. You’re jaded. I’m not going to post a list (of which you put no restrictions on) only to have you be like “we can’t get any of those people!” like you know everything and can predict the future.

Where is your list of coaching replacements? Who takes us to the next level?
There isn't one. Because there's a lot of good coaches argument is frankly one of the dumbest ones yet. Its the kind of argument that got Chizik hired. I have an opportunity to marry a Swedish super model, win the lottery and in theory own a professional soccer club. Will I? Probably not. But I have the opportunity! In theory. Hypothetically. Which is all any list is.

A) Sure, they'd have the opportunity. Opportunity to succeed or fail, who knows, but its an opportunity! We might be great, we might suck, but hey, at least we won't be simply good.

B) They'd actually have to be interested. Going to at best the 3rd best conference, a mile behind the first two in revenue, to a place that just fired its winningest coach in history while still winning, without a off-the field incident anyone knows about... yeah, good luck finding the cream of the crop being interested.

C) I could throw random a** names out my butt all damn day. I could say Alex Golesh. I could say Nick Saban's coming out of retirement. I could say I am going to dig up Bear Bryant's body and bring him back from the dead. That's the fun part , I guess, of a fan when you want a coach fired is that you can literally pretend that person X,Y and Z would be interested when in reality.

Person X is holding out for a job in the big 10 cause that's where home is
Person Y isn't interested because he's making the same mount as a coordinator in the SEC
And person Z, maybe he's interested but he's also got 3-4 other job offers that he might be interested in

Not to mention, then after firing a coach, you also have to magically find and put together a competent staff, which is MORE important than the head coach himself, IMO.

All while creating a culture and atmosphere.

I'm not CMC or Bear Bryant or Nick Saban. But even while its been at a small college level or lower, I've been a coach long enough to know that this idea that you simply fire a coach and replace another one and you'll do better is about the same as someone thinking if I pick the number 8 instead of the number 5 I'll win the lottery.

Again. Its fine to want to see more motion, better use of time outs, pole dancing, whatever... that's fine. If you want Heacock to blitz granny from Section 28 row 49 wearing knee high knickers, all of that is fine.

But this idea that you simply fire a coach bring in someone new and that you surpass this and "oh, I've got a list" sure. I've got a list too. And ain't one of them going to come to Iowa State, be interested in Iowa State or do better at Iowa State, IMO.
