Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

All of us who voted yes in this poll past year.
I voted yes. I was wrong. Obviously. For the record, I thought we were stagnating a bit, maybe even slightly declining, not full-blown rotting. But when the only poll options are "rotting" or "not rotting" I figured stagnation was closer to the former.

To be fair, what Campbell is pulling off is completely unprecedented. It's the most phenomenal thing of its kind that college football has ever seen (no jimlad). The man is doing something remarkable that just doesn't happen, and he's making it look relatively easy and normal.
It's a fascinating phenomenon. The most vocal critics of Campbell are largely absent from the board. They are usually the first to tell you that they're lifelong fans and cheer for the Cyclones contrary to what their posts indicate, but are usually nowhere to be found when times are good. Maybe they cheer silently?
TL;DR: Campbell’s sack is enormous.
I don't think that take is wrong anyway.
There were issues that needed addressed. But I think most people who said yes also said he had more than earned the chance to right the ship. He has clearly done so.
But some people can't handle nuanced takes. I notice those bumping this thread weren't bumping this after we got smoked in the bowl game
Most national preseason predictions had Iowa State last year getting close to last if not last in the Big 12 and we finished tied for 3rd and made a bowl game. It was an overall decent year with new faces all over the field. If someone would've bumped that thread it would've made them look like a moron. Also no one bumped the thread when we were 3-0 this year, that would've been stupid. Just like making this thread through 3 games of last year was.
Bowl games are not what they once were. I have heard those around the program say that the way Campbell and company handled the bowl game last year was one of the reason most of the players staid the course. It is my opinion, this is how non playoff bowl season will play out moving forward.
Debbie downers. They show up when people want to listen to them. They fade away when things are good.
I am reading this as they put little emphasis on the game and treated it like a scrimmage. Please correct me if I am wrong. And this is very OK if that is what the program needed and will need in the future.
But I will have to consider this when determining if a bowl game trip is worth it. Based on the game, I am so damn happy I didn't effort to make the trip to Memphis last year.

To be fair, [and for disclosure, I voted NO in both rot threads], this site was made at least in part to allow fans to ***** about Wayne Morgan to try and get him fired.

Just curious, what do you expect out of a bowl game? Other than obviously wanting to see a W, how has it been anything other than a scrimmage, especially in this day and age. Since they expanded bowls, you can make a case for it being a glorified scrimmage, especially most of the bowls Iowa State has been in.
It’s just an excuse for fans to take a vacation, IMO
