I wouldn't say we can't. That isn't 6M annually. And I think I heard Blum say the richest collectives are pulling in maybe 10M right now? He said something along the lines that we were maybe 15% of that. I'm sure my numbers are wrong, but I think he was implying we have raised over a million. We can grow, especially if this season and MBB season goes well. We have a huge donor base, just a bunch of cheap fans. That can change. The truck leases are for the life of each player's eligibility (i.e., period of 4 to 6 years), plus all of their insurance.... approximately $6 million.
The point is Iowa State cannot compete with that, so it's a bit naive to think the playing field going to finally be level after this year.

Going from memory, he implied that we will have $2M for the upcoming transfer seasons.I wouldn't say we can't. That isn't 6M annually. According to this article the value of each truck is $43,970, plus insurance and the player has to pay any tax. The lease is for one year, but if the player returns the truck is leased for another year. The trucks were sponsored by Forthewin360 a streaming app.The truck leases are for the life of each player's eligibility (i.e., period of 4 to 6 years), plus all of their insurance.... approximately $6 million.

Just to clear things up. The largest collectives have an annual budget of $10M plus. We aren't anywhere near that at the moment. We have grown, but need everyone's help to compete with our peers who are at the $4-6M level, which is where the majority of the Big 12 lives. We don't have a huge marketing budget because we want to use as many resources as possible for the Cyclones, so word of mouth is the single best way to spread the word. We have 800 monthly contributors as of this second giving $10 or more per month. I really would love to get that number to 2,000 by the time the portal opens. We will need it. Please tell your Cyclone colleagues and friends. You may not think the beer, coffee, golf balls, merch and everything else adds up, but it really does to make us competitive. Go to wewillcollective.com to learn more. Thanks all!Going from memory, he implied that we will have $2M for the upcoming transfer seasons.
Put your money where your mouth is and set up a dunk tank for the final home game with you and Chris. BOOM! Just made you guys 100K. You're welcome.Just to clear things up. Do u really believe they signed an 7 -8 year lease? Maybe that's the value of the trucks, but if the approximate $700/mo. lease is accurate, it is not a $6 million deal. You turn the trucks in at the end of the lease. The total value of Utah's truck deal is $6 million, not $714,000.

Utah Utes football, basketball, gymnastics teams get new cars in NIL deal
The Utah Utes football team went viral for getting new trucks in an NIL deal. The men's and women's basketball and gymnastics teams were also gifted.www.usatoday.com
Cheap and judgemental - gotta love people that complain and don't write a check.the cheapest fans
the cheapest fans
I wonder how much of the discrepancy between us and our peer schools is the average fan being cheap vs the lack of big money donors. I'm sure we fall short in both areas, but I'm guessing it's the latter where we really come up short.Cheap and judgemental - gotta love people that complain and don't write a check.
I will get hypothermia to keep this young football crew intact if that’s what it takes!Put your money where your mouth is and set up a dunk tank for the final home game with you and Chris. BOOM! Just made you guys 100K. You're welcome.
If the collective is providing the insurance, then its absolutely on them. Also, think about speeding tickets, parking tickets, etc. This is a great PR move for Utah, but holy **** this could VERY easily blow up in their face.what will be interesting is if these players seriously hurt someone in a car accident and if the plaintiffs can go after the collective also for personal injury since they supplied the truck. could be very interesting.

The sponsor is providing the insurance and the cost of the lease. The collective could say they just brought the two groups together. I am sure that collective ran everything through lawyers to make sure that they have little to no liability. Hope they never have to find out.If the collective is providing the insurance, then its absolutely on them. On the plus side, this could be a genius move for the dealership that does this. Technically they get to sell 85 new trucks every 2 years(assuming this continues) and they get them back as used vehicles as well. Genius.
Most likely these are ran through Barco so the insurance is paid for by the driver, but under the dealership umbrella
Correct, providing the insurance, but being paid for in the $619 payment. They are using a leasing company like Barco, and then running everything under the dealership umbrella. As the dealer principle/owner, i would lose sleep over something like that. Wayyy to much liabilityThe sponsor is providing the insurance and the cost of the lease. If you just look at graduates and giving to the NCC, our numbers (number of givers) we are the worst in the big 12. Total dollars......I think bottom third.I wonder how much of the discrepancy between us and our peer schools is the average fan being cheap vs the lack of big money donors.
