Apologies to the Big 12

ISU wins out and beats a top-10 (maybe top-5 team) in the championship game. Isn't our resume good enough for a very solid look at the playoffs? That would be potentially 3 top-5 wins with wins over WVU and potentially top-10 team OSU. Scanning the other teams, there likely isn't a better resume.

And then we can all chant "Bring on Bama" and really, really mean it.

Not with non-ranked team losses to Iowa and Texas, for our sake, we need both of them to win here out to help our ranking and odds.

Isn't this more a BCS type of thing? I mean, I could be wrong, but I believe the committee looks at how well a team has been play towards the end of the season, with substantially less weight on who you lost to.

If we win out and play in Arlington, we'll likely play an OU or TCU team that has also won out. If either of those teams avenges their loss on that day then they'll only have 1 loss to a good Iowa State team. If 2014 Ohio State can get in the CFP with a loss to VT, then a 1 loss (to a ranked team) Oklahoma can get in. Especially a 1 loss team that has a win over Ohio State.
First IDGAF about any other Big12 team making the playoff.

If we win out an win the Big12 do we make the CFP? An argument could be made. What better Cinderella story?

I would rather Iowa and Texas win out as well and this is what happens

If we win out...then beat OK again in the championship, They are a very good team with only 2 losses, both to us, and a win at the shoe. They might even make an at large CFB while we make the playoffs  Good for the conference and us.

The only question I'd have on the amazing Cinderella story is whether the Cinderella makes money via ratings at playoff time?

I know it was the BCS era, but remember when LSU made the championship game with 2 loses, one of them being to Kentucky?

Maybe after 30 years of winning football ISU could get that kind of consideration. But anyone thinking we're getting into the playoffs with 2 losses this year can't even remember TCU getting screwed after a ONE loss season and that loss being to a top 5 team by a late game score.

If OU wins out that means a win over OSU, TCU, and at Ohio State and an additional win against TCU or Iowa State (who would be top 10 in that scenario). Putting them at 12-1. Yeah they'd be in.

Yeah but tOSU would have a better loss. #CFPlogic
