Interesting comparisons between the AP and the tournament seedings:

Zags 7 (AP) 7 (NCAA)
KU 9 and 8
ISU 13 and 9
Baylor 16 and 10
OU 15 and 11
W. Virg 18 and 19
UNI 10 and 20
SMU 20 and 21
WSU 12 and 26
Iowa NR and 27
Ok. St NR and 34
Texas NR and 41

The biggest gaps, as expected, was with the two MVC teams.

Other than UCLA.

That one was just a blatantly terrible. Not sure what the hell they were thinking there. I believe the excuse was that they were coming on late? First, the selection committee allegedly doesn't take that into account any more, and second, their late surge was against USC (twice), Washington and Washington State, who occupy 10th, 11th and 12th in a weak PAC 12. At least Texas could boast of playing in the top conference.

I love how the committee chair whipped out 'eye test' to explain UCLA. Eye Test as in 'the front of the jersey says UCLA, so we put them in.'

AP is a lot about when did you lose last and who was it too. Hence the over-ranked MVC teams.

I think SMU-UCLA will go one of two ways. UCLA will win a close, hard-fought game, or SMU will wipe the floor with them. Not sure why I feel this way.

Pulling for UCLA to get to see Hoiberg take out Alford.

I saw a guy interviewng the committee chair who said words to that effect.

He than said to him, "4-3 late in a down league is coming on?"

He immediately got the "let's talk about something else" look.
