Wow. Sexy finished that match a bloody mess and completely off the rails. The match was hardly a technical masterpiece, but a match like that hardly needs to be. I don't even want to think about the size of Dario's boner after that match.

I love that they're not afraid to put the women on the main event. Mariposa and Sexy Star certainly delivered last night.

Did you catch Mariposa beating up the camera man as she was leaving the rafters? That is the kind of attention to detail I appreciate from a wrestler.

My favorite part of the match was when Sexy Star hit Mariposa with the chair vag shot. I lost it right there. (I'll try to find a gif of that later).

I want to know how Melissa Santos stays in her skin with Marty the Moth flapping his arms all creeped up on her backside... Ew.

Did you see her move his hand away while continuing to announce without missing a beat? And then being repulsed when he threw his shirt at her? She is just greatness. Details like how she always cheers for Sexy Star (who saved her from an arm break) and how she is still not excited when announcing Pentagon Jr. intros are the kind of continuity details I love about this show.

Then there was the lead up promo to that match, where Dario Cueto was half playing in-ring psychologist to help Sexy get over the emotional trauma Mariposa inflicted upon her - and the other half of him absolutely getting off at the prospect of Sexy and Mariposa beating the living **** out of each other.
Dario Cueto is the best actor on LU. His facial expressions are priceless.

I had to rewind it a few times because I couldn't process what I was seeing. I don't feel bad, though, because Matt and Vampiro didn't know how to call that, either

I will say this - Vince and Dunn should be taking notes on that Sexy-Mariposa match, because that is a textbook example of how you breathe life back into a superstar that has gone stale. Sexy Star is the babyface of LU, perhaps even over Puma. IMO she's the John Cena. While she's the fan favorite, fans were beginning to lose interest in her, question why they should care about her. Obviously she had the feud with Marty the Moth and Mariposa with Mack on her side, but it was a very slow building feud with little character development, and people were growing impatient with Sexy. And then last night happened, and Sexy is suddenly as hot as she's ever been. That "**** YOU, MARIPOSA!" will live on forever in the temple - that was when everything changed for Sexy. Not even the chair crotch shot nor her bleeding from the rafters got her over as much as that one statement in the middle of the ring.

And that, folks, is how you put the luster back on a star whose shine has begun to fade.

That was awesome. Especially considering the position she was in at the time.

Apparently, seems Eric Van Wagenen asked El Rey Network for special permission to have that part uncensored (at least appears to be so from their twitter exchange). He knew what kind of impact that would have on the match.

I can only imagine the one bruise she isn't revealing (cuz that chair-to-the-crotch shot had to have left a mark)... :err:

And I'm curious just how bad Sexy got it.

This is the only post-match picture that Sexy Star posted. Some people ringside said that she had her mouth and face busted and was spitting up some blood after the match.

That "Unique Opportunity Tournament" at Ultima Lucha Dos pt. 1 - Dario Cueto is an evil genius/bastard. Easily the best evil authority member in pro wrestling.

Hate the booking of Son Of Havoc. He was a made man, and they cut his legs out from under him for Dr. Wagner Jr. I get the heel move, but man, they could have rocketed Havoc up.

I'll have to say that I really enjoyed Cage vs The Mack II. Thos two always put up a great hardcore match. The Son of Havoc vs. Texano match was surprisingly good. I've never been a big Texano fan, but he did great and I loved that spot where he crashed into the bar and broke the whole thing. Very well done. Would have loved to see Son of Havoc win, but I'm okay with the Dr. Wagner Jr. angle, ONLY because of Famous B. By the way, Dr. Wagner Jr. looks and moves amazingly for a 50 year old guy!

There was discussion on Cageside Seats that this was actually a sign that SoH might be getting a slow burn to the top for Season 3.

Hope so. I know most of Season 3 is already shot. The review on the Observer mentioned that Dr. Wagner Jr. is barely in the next season, so that's a bummer.

The matches I'm most excited for in Ultima Lucha II (in order of most excited to least excited to watch):

King Cuerno vs. Mil Muertes
- these two are never in a bad match. Should be epic.

Trios Title - PJ Black, Mundo, and Jack Evans vs. Aerostar, Drago, and Fenix - Jack Evans, enough said.

Gift of the Gods Elimination Match - looking forward to see what new wrestler Night Claw is all about. Also love seeing more of Mariposa, Killshot, and Daga whenever I get a chance.

Matanza Cueto vs. Pentagon Jr.
- this could be good, if Matanza can put together another effort similar to his fight against Cage. We already know Pentagon always puts on a good show.

Prince Puma vs. Rey Mysterio - 5-10 years ago, Rey Mysterio would have made this the main event. Not sure how much more he has in the tank. Puma will have to carry this match.

Taya vs. Ivelisse - I don't know why, but both of these women do better against the guys than against other women. Hopefully they surprise me.

Dragon Azteca Jr. vs Black Lotus - only down here at the bottom because Black Lotus has not wrestled in a while and hasn't made her LU wrestling debut. Not sure if she's even ever had a cross-gender match. Azteca always brings it, so it will all depend on her. Have no clue what to expect on this one.
