I guess I could be like some people at work, when we max out our Visual Analysis network licenses, and send an email to the entire company asking if someone will quit using it so I can...

So they didn't know the answer to your question (not even close!), and just made something up. Awesome customer service.
The reason is because ESPN owns all the national rights to conference games. All the lower tier carriers in the conference have reached deals with ESPN to put games on Full Court/ESPN3.com with the exception of FSN Rocky Mtn. and Colorado games they cover.
So normally we are either on ESPN, ESPNU, Big 12 network, or CTN. So your CTN or Big 12 network games have an agreement with ESPN to go on Full Court/ESPN3. Mediacom had even worked out a deal with them. All of the lower tier carriers in the conference have a deal with ESPN but one. When we were at Nebraska FSN Midwest had a deal with Full Court/ESPN3. FSN Rocky Mtn. has different ownership (DirecTV) and never reached a deal with ESPN.
