Allen Lazard

it was a bad throw - high and behind him. The only chance he had to make a catch was to go for it with just his left hand. Unfortunately he should have just let it sail out of bounds.

That's what I saw as well. Is it just me or is Sam slow at going through his progressions? I'm an amateur but that's what it seems like to me.

No doubt Lazard should have had 15 ball thrown his way. He towered over those defenders, utterly stupid. Sam was def looking to make quick easy throws without actually seeing the defense. But thats why we've had a qb battle for 5 years. Don't have one.

Sam is afraid to throw down the field. And when he does it either gets tipped or picked. He holds the ball way too long. Lazard needs Rohach to play to excel. Someone who actually throws the ball over 10 yards down the field.

Not impressed. Is he good? Yes.

But no excuse for going after that ball with 1 hand and trying to make SC Top 10. Failed basic fundamentals.

This post is really not smart and displays a lack of knowledge. This poster should be banned. He is on ignore mode in 3,2,1.....

I was all for Sam starting, but he was not very good today. There were several times when someone was wide open and he threw into double and triple coverage. On the long shot they took to the TE there were 3 guys covering. Someone has to be open if there are 3 guys chasing a TE.

The second interception was on him, though. Could have been a catch if he goes after it with two hands. Sucks because it was still a close game at that point. But he's still a freshman... he'll get better.
What he is doing in game? I yank him. This was a horrible junior high play.

Bingo. Said the same thing myself. 3 guys were covering Bibbs. He has some separation, but they closed.

I've already gone back and watched the play on FS1.

Was it a great pass by Sam? No. But even the commentators say it should've been caught WITH BOTH HANDS.

We are lucky to have Lazard but expectations will not match productivity for a year or two, if ever. There's a lot of potential there but he needs time.

BS..a high school QB needs to complete that pass...we have a guy who can't complete some of the basic throws, that pick was on Sam. And if u think I'm just bagging on him...he always throws screen passes high, RB throws behind the line of scrimmage are always behind the RB, and when he does attempt to throw down field its 5 yds short. I'm not saying Grant is any better but if Sam is the best we got we r in for a long year....rant over.
