Huh. I was glancing at 247’s early ‘21 Draft Preview, and was pleased to see that they had Brock as a potential choice.

Then I ran across the below. I know it’s way early and this is a hodge podge of guesswork, but at #10 overall he wouldn’t stick around for his senior year, folks.

He wouldn’t and he shouldn’t if he was #10 overall. I guess I don’t see the NFL valuing him that high.

If it happens, I'm happy for him and I am confident we have very capable signal callers behind him. Our incoming classes have very highly rated QB talent.

I’m not qualified to say if he can get picked that high, but if he does, that’d be ... somethin' else.

For S's &Gs, since 2001 (past 20 drafts), QBs selected at #10 or higher:
  • Burrow
  • Tagovailoa
  • Herbert
  • Murray
  • Jones
  • Mayfield
  • Darnold
  • Allen
  • Rosen
  • Trubisky
  • Mahomes
  • Goff
  • Wentz
  • Winston
  • Mariota
  • Bortles
  • Luck
  • Griffin
  • Tannehill
  • Newton
  • Locker
  • Gabbert
  • Bradford
  • Stafford
  • Sanchez
  • Ryan
  • Russell
  • Young
  • Leinart
  • Smith
  • E-Manning
  • Rivers
  • Palmer
  • Leftwich
  • Carr
  • Harrington
  • Vick

Obviously if he can go that high or even first round, he has to go. It wouldn't hurt recruiting.

Seems to me Russel Wilson started the wave of under sized qbs. Brees was an anomaly back when he got drafted. Now it’s normal

And Brock is over 6 feet tall (listed at 6'1"). That's tall enough. Kyler Murray is under 5'10" (despite his one-time measurement of 5'10") and he went #1 overall. The NFL is much more like the college game these days.. lots of spread concepts that Brock excels with.

I have a feeling Brock will be drafted after his senior year (4-7 round pick) and bounces around for his career with a few highlight seasons. Kind of a Case Keenum like career.

Lol love Brock but there is no chance he is a top 10 pick in 2021 or 2022 for that matter.

While I don’t think a Purdy will go 1st rd... take off your negative isu goggles.. Purdy had comp % of 65%...Had nearly 4000 yds... and 27 TDs...As a Sophomore. Purdy just had best single season not only in ISU history but entire state of Iowa history.

He’s also mobile.. He reminds a lot of a young Drew Breese. He improves his arm strength a little and he could easily be Top 2-3 Rds

Heard interesting take today during the draft. Not as many teams looking for QBs. Fewer team don't have their future in place.

Purdy is a very good college QB, but the NFL cares more about physical traits at QB than they do statistical production. Purdy is small and has poor arm strength for an NFL quarterback. That’s not going to change. There is zero chance that a QB with Purdy’s measurables and physical profile goes in the top ten, or even in the first round. That’s a good thing for Iowa State, as it means you should have at least two more years of winning a minimum of 7 or 8 games.
